  • District-level training for Panchs and Sarpanchs held in Narayanpur; emphasis placed on the effective implementation of schemes

On the final day of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a district-level training and orientation program for Panchs and Sarpanchs was held in Narayanpur. The session focused on the effective implementation of rural development schemes and increasing public participation. Addressing the gathering, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap stated that Panchs and Sarpanchs play a crucial role in the development of villages and in ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in line. He urged these public representatives to understand the needs of the villagers, set development priorities, and ensure active community involvement in the execution of these schemes.

  • Better outcomes for rural development schemes can be achieved through public trust and participation

During the event, held at the Cinema Auditorium in Narayanpur, Forest Minister Shri Kashyap called upon Panchayat representatives to play an active role in the success of the ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) initiatives. He advised Panchs and Sarpanchs to engage with villagers, informing them about the objectives and benefits of various government schemes. He emphasized the need for close coordination with the administration to ensure that benefits reach the eligible beneficiaries. He noted that it is only through public trust and active participation that rural development schemes can yield the best possible results.

  • Panchayat representatives must regularly monitor the quality and progress of construction projects

Shri Kashyap stressed the importance of completing approved construction projects in Panchayats within the stipulated timeframes. He highlighted the need for the timely completion of public-utility infrastructure—such as school buildings, Anganwadi centers, hostels, community halls, toilets for girls, cremation grounds (Muktidham), roads, bridges, culverts, and ‘Mahtari Sadans’ (community centers for women). He urged Panchayat representatives to consistently monitor the quality and progress of these construction works, ensuring that villagers can access better facilities as soon as possible. Emphasis on Promoting Livelihood Activities Based on Local Resources

The Forest Minister emphasized the promotion of livelihood activities based on local resources to increase the income of rural households. He directed that an action plan be prepared—tailored to the region’s potential—for activities such as pisciculture (fish farming) and duck rearing, and that eligible beneficiaries be integrated into these initiatives. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Federation, Shri Rupsay Salam; District Panchayat President, Shri Narayan Markam; Municipal Council President, Shri Indra Prasad Baghel; Collector, Smt. Namrata Jain; and the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Shri Chitrakant Chali Thakur, along with various Panchayat representatives and concerned officials.
