 Shyamdev Gupta became a progressive farmer through Krishak Unnati Yojana

  • Cultivation of pigeon pea and maize is being increased from one and a half acres to four acres.

With the encouragement of the Krishak Unnati Yojana, farmer Mr. Shyamdev Gupta, a resident of Putsura village in Balrampur district, has expanded his farming area. Last year, he cultivated pigeon pea and maize on one and a half acres of his four-acre land. He received a grant of ₹15,300 under the scheme. This support encouraged him, and he decided to cultivate these crops on his entire agricultural land.
This year, Mr. Gupta is growing pigeon pea and maize on all four acres. He says that the encouragement received from the Krishak Unnati Yojana inspired him to adopt crop diversification and maximize the use of his land. His efforts to expand his farming area have given him a new identity as a progressive farmer.
According to Mr. Gupta, government assistance has helped him mobilize the necessary resources for agricultural activities. He expressed his gratitude to the government for the benefits of the scheme.
The Krishak Unnati Yojana is becoming a medium to support farmers in arranging agricultural inputs and promoting crop diversification. Mr. Shyamdev Gupta’s story demonstrates that timely encouragement boosts a farmer’s confidence and inspires them to pursue new opportunities in farming.
