- 116 senior citizens receive walking sticks on the International Day of Older Persons
- Hearing aids and walkers also gifted; daily life set to become easier
On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Adani Foundation undertook a commendable social welfare initiative. The Foundation organized special camps in the Rodopali and Milupara Gram Panchayats of the Tamnar region, distributing need-based assistive devices to 116 senior citizens. The primary objective of this program is to empower the elderly to be self-reliant and to safeguard their health and dignity.
The devices distributed under this compassionate initiative by the Adani Foundation include walking sticks, hearing aids, and walkers. The faces of the elderly lit up with joy upon receiving these modern aids. Beneficiaries remarked that with the help of these devices, they would now be able to carry out their daily activities without relying on others.
The organization identified the needy through a transparent process before handing over the equipment. A total of 116 senior citizens benefited from the initiative, comprising 35 elders from Rodopali Gram Panchayat and 81 from Milupara Gram Panchayat. Prior to this, similar assistance had already been provided to 30 elderly individuals in Mudagaon.
Local Sarpanchs, Deputy Sarpanchs, and prominent citizens participated in the distribution event. The guests described the Adani Foundation’s effort as a milestone in community development. They emphasized that ensuring a dignified life for the elderly is the responsibility of the entire society and noted that such events foster a spirit of compassion within the community.
Representatives of the Adani Foundation stated at the event that the elderly are our guiding lights, and it is their resolve to ensure their lives are safe and dignified. He stated that the Adani Foundation is always committed to extending support—spanning education, health, and livelihoods—to even the last person in society.
