- Cartoon workshop on the theme of ‘Smiling Bastar’ to be held in Jagdalpur
- School students will get training from senior cartoonists
- The positive picture of Bastar’s culture, tourism and development will find new expression through cartoon art.
In collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Public Relations Department, Cartoon Watch, the country’s only monthly cartoon magazine, will organize a special cartoon workshop for school students in Jagdalpur on the theme of “Smiling Bastar.” The workshop will train students in cartoon and caricature art and inspire them to creatively express Bastar’s culture, tourism, and folk life.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Bastar is establishing new dimensions of development, tourism, and cultural identity. Bastar is establishing a new identity in the country and the world due to its natural beauty, tribal culture, and tourist destinations. Chitrakoot and Tirathgarh waterfalls, Kanger Valley National Park, Bastar Dussehra, and other folk festivals symbolize Bastar’s rich heritage. Mr. Trimbak Sharma, editor of Cartoon Watch, stated that the workshop’s theme, “Smiling Bastar,” aims to give creative expression to these positive aspects through cartoon art.
In this workshop, senior cartoonist from Delhi, Mr. Madhav Joshi, and renowned caricature artist from Pune, Mr. Shubham Jinde, will provide on-the-spot training in creating cartoons and caricatures through live demos. Students will also be introduced to the social, creative, and employment-oriented aspects of cartoon art.
The workshop will provide a platform for local talents, and the positive identity of Bastar can be promoted nationwide through art. The ‘Smile Bastar’ campaign is a creative effort to connect the new generation with its culture, folk traditions, and natural heritage.
