- A gift of more than Rs 3 crore for education and infrastructure development for girl students

Revenue, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Tankaram Verma today attended the initiation ceremony organized at the Government Minimata Girls College in Balodabazar as the chief guest. On this occasion, he presented the gift of development schemes worth more than Rs 3.25 crore for the girl students. Minister Shri Verma said that the foundation of a bright future is laid only through hard work and determination in student life. History is witness that only those who struggle achieve their goals. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to encourage girl students towards higher education and the intention of the government is that “daughters should study, move forward and become the pride of the state.”
Minister Shri Verma inaugurated the additional room constructed at the cost of Rs 52.70 lakh in the college. He also performed Bhoomi Pujan and laid the foundation stone of the hostel building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 272.81 lakh. On the demand of the students, he also announced the establishment of a new conference hall with a capacity of 1000 seats, two smart classrooms and high mask light in the college campus. On this occasion, Minister Shri Verma welcomed the newly admitted students by tying a Raksha Sutra to them. He called upon the students to not only achieve excellence in education, but also bring laurels to the district and the state in sports and other activities.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Vasu Verma said that – “This gift received by the college is very important for the all-round development of the girl students. The government and administration are continuously providing support, which is bringing positive changes in the education system.” District Panchayat President Ms. Akanksha Jaiswal, Municipal Council President Mr. Ashok Jain, other public representatives, college professors and a large number of girl students were present in the program.
