The 16th Central Finance Commission organized a discussion today at the Mefeyar Lake Resort, New Raipur Atal Nagar, with representatives of panchayats, urban bodies, and political parties. The Chairman of the Central Finance Commission, Dr. Arvind Panagariya, presided over the discussion, which was attended by other officials, including members of the commission such as Mr. Ajay Narayan Jha, Ms. Annie George Mathew, Dr. Manoj Panda, and Dr. Soumyakanti Ghosh. During the discussion organized with the representatives of the panchayats, the Secretary of the Panchayat Department, Mr. S. Bharti Dasan, provided the commission with information about the amount received by the panchayats, their needs, and their financial management through a presentation. Representatives of panchayats from various regions of the state presented their respective areas’ issues and needs to the commission, along with suggestions and demands.
