The fourth convocation of Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu University, Durg was held.

  • 1536 students were awarded graduate , post graduate and PhD degrees.

 The fourth convocation of Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu University, Durg was held today in the university campus in the august presence of Governor Shri Ramen Deka. In the ceremony, 1536 students were awarded Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees in the faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, Dairy Technology and Fisheries . University Gold Medals were awarded to 45 degree holders and Pandit Tirath Prasad Mishra Memorial Gold Medals were awarded to 08 graduate degree holders in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry .

In the convocation ceremony, Governor Mr. Deka presented degree certificates and gold medals to the students with his own hands. State’s Minister for Livestock Development , Fisheries , Agricultural Development and Farmers Welfare and Biotechnology and Tribal Welfare Mr. Ramvichar Netam attended the ceremony as a special guest. Vice Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Area Development Authority , Durg Rural MLA Mr. Lalit Chandrakar and Vice Chairman of Scheduled Caste Development Authority , Ahiwara MLA Mr. Doman Lal Korsevada were also present.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor Shri Ramen Deka congratulated all the graduating students. He said that convocation is not just an occasion to complete studies , but rather the beginning of a new journey filled with responsibilities. The Governor emphasized that education does not end one day; the process of learning continues throughout life. He noted that India is the world’s largest milk producer, and this sector is a major source of income for rural families, especially women and small farmers. Describing the vital role of animal husbandry and fisheries in Chhattisgarh’s rural economy, the Governor said that today the livestock sector needs to be strengthened with modern technology and scientific methods, rather than merely increasing numbers.

Governor Mr. Deka praised the university’s work on preventing infectious diseases and improving breeds. He alerted dairy technology students to the problem of adulteration and urged them to focus on quality so that Indian products can become globally reliable. The Governor called for inspiration from Kanker district’s success in the field of fisheries and the adoption of modern methods.

Governor Mr. Deka urged students to become not just job seekers but job creators, committed to a self-reliant India. He emphasized that subjects like veterinary medicine and dairy are not merely studies but also avenues of service to humanity. Appreciating the contributions of teachers and parents, the Governor encouraged young people to confidently contribute to the nation’s development.

In his address, State Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam stated that animal husbandry , dairying, and fisheries play a vital role in Chhattisgarh’s agriculture-based economy. The state government is providing all possible support to encourage youth towards entrepreneurship. Startups related to animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries are being provided incentives, grants, and training.

University Vice-Chancellor Dr. R.R.B. Singh presented the university’s progress report. National Dairy Development Board Chairman Dr. Meenesh C. Shah delivered the convocation address. University Registrar Dr. B.P. Rathia conducted the ceremony.

Present on the occasion were Director Research Services Dr. G.K. Dutta , Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Raipur Dr. Girish Chandel , Professor Ravi R. Saxena of Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University, along with the university’s graduate students and their parents.
