As part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign)—organized from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 25 years of dedicated public service—Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts & Endowments Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal visited rural areas in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district and engaged in heartfelt conversations with beneficiaries. He visited Gram Panchayat Dhanauli in the Gaurela development block, met families benefiting from government welfare schemes, and inquired about the positive changes in their lives.
Minister Shri Agrawal inspected the newly constructed houses of Shri Kartik Ram Baiga and Shri Dheerpal Singh Baiga, beneficiaries of the PM-JANMAN housing scheme. He spoke with both families to understand the changes in their lives following the allotment of the houses. Expressing happiness over receiving permanent housing, the beneficiaries conveyed their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
While interacting with villagers during the campaign, Minister Shri Agrawal also learned about the success story of Smt. Bhanukala Baiga, wife of Shri Dheerpal Singh Baiga. Smt. Bhanukala Baiga is associated with a women’s self-help group under the ‘Bihan’ Rural Livelihood Mission and is increasing her income through various livelihood activities, including goat rearing.
By joining the self-help group, working consistently hard, and expanding her livelihood activities, she has achieved the status of a ‘Lakhpati Didi’ (a woman earning an annual income of over one lakh rupees). Praising her success, Minister Shri Agrawal remarked that the progress of rural women towards self-reliance through self-help groups serves as an inspiration to society. He also encouraged Smt. Bhanukala Baiga to further expand her livelihood activities.
- Learning about the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat scheme from a beneficiary
As part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign)—an initiative involving dialogue with beneficiaries of public welfare schemes—Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal met with Shri Nemchand Gurjar, a beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He inquired about the health status of Shri Gurjar and his family and learned about the benefits they had received through the scheme.
Shri Nemchand Gurjar shared that he had availed medical treatment using his Ayushman card and had also received a rabies vaccination. While gathering details about the benefits received under the scheme, Minister Shri Agrawal also enquired about the family’s overall health.

During the visit, the Gurjar family extended a warm welcome to Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal and treated him to hot, delicious roasted corn (bhutta). Minister Shri Agrawal thanked the family for their spontaneous and heartfelt hospitality. A cordial atmosphere of easy interaction prevailed between the villagers and the Minister throughout the visit.
Minister Shri Agrawal appealed to the villagers to participate actively in the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. He stated that this campaign offers an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of service, dedication, and public participation. He urged the villagers to join the campaign by lighting the ‘Lamp of Blessings’ (Aashirwad ka Deep) and to further the spirit of public service.
He remarked that the true objective of government schemes is realized only when their benefits reach the last person in society and when beneficiaries share their experiences to inspire others to avail themselves of these schemes. The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ serves as a medium to expand this spirit of public participation and service.
