
A two-day research conclave commenced at the main campus of MATS University in Gullu, Arang. It is noteworthy that MATS University is the only private university in Chhattisgarh to have received NAAC A+ grade, and it is a center for academic and research activities, as well as the holistic development of its students. Research and innovation are recognized as the most essential components of higher education in developing nations. Research contributes to the creation and application of new knowledge, while innovation not only promotes a deeper understanding but also inspires parallel thinking regarding value creation from research. Since its inception, MATS University has organized numerous research conclaves involving faculty members and researchers from various levels and academic disciplines of the university, as well as other universities and institutions, to promote a shared vision and understanding for better solutions to scientific and social needs. This conclave provides a suitable platform for researchers to discuss their interdisciplinary research work. The program began with the lighting of a lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. The distinguished guests and speakers at this research conclave included Dr. Jitendra Singh, Director of Research Services, Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry, Patan, Durg; Dr. Amit Dubey, Scientist, CG COST, Raipur; Dr. Kamlesh Shriwas, SOS Chemistry, Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur; Dr. Kamlesh Shukla, SOAS Biotechnology, Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur; Dr. Top Lal Verma, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Chhattisgarh region; and Dr. Shubha Banerjee, Associate Professor, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. After the felicitation of the guests, Dr. Manisha Agarwal, the convener of the research conclave, provided information about the conclave program. The welcome address was delivered by the Vice-Chancellor of MATS University, Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Yadav. In his address, he highlighted the meaning and importance of research as defined by various scholars and provided information about the university’s work in the field of research. Subsequently, the Chancellor of MATS University, Shri Gajraj Pagariya Ji, extended his best wishes to the guests and scholars present at the event. On this occasion, he highlighted the significant contributions made by the sages of ancient India in the fields of astrology, almanacs, medicine, Ayurveda, and education, and emphasized their relevance in the present times and the importance of a global perspective. In the next segment of the program, Dr. Jitendra Singh, the special guest, provided detailed information on urban horticulture. He explained that through this method, people living in cities can grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers on their rooftops, thereby improving food security, sustainability, mental health, and environmental quality in urban areas. Following this, Dr. Shubha Banerjee, a guest from Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, shed light on the Food and Agriculture Nexus. She presented an assessment of agriculture and food in India and provided a detailed discussion on traditional food nutrients and the current food system in rural areas of India. In the next part of the program, Dr. Top Lal Verma provided detailed information on the history of Vande Mataram, highlighting its 150th anniversary and describing it as a major source of inspiration for nationalism. Following this, Dr. Amit Dubey presented his views on IPR and the role of DST, providing detailed and interesting information on innovation. Subsequently, Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Shriwas delivered a lecture on innovation and novelty in research, providing detailed information on research to the research scholars present at the program. Afterward, Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Shukla delivered a lecture on environment and climate change and suggested measures to achieve a pollution-free environment. The vote of thanks for the first day of the conclave was given by the Registrar of MATS University, Shri Gokulananda Panda. He encouraged all the guests, research scholars, heads of various departments of the university, faculty members, and students present at the conclave to pursue research. On this occasion, the Director General of MATS University, Shri Priyesh Pagariya Ji, expressed his happiness at the successful organization of the first day of the research conclave.
