The underground cabling project run by Raipur Smart City Limited to free the busiest and densely populated areas of the city from open electric wires has been completed. In collaboration with CSPDCL, Raipur Smart City Limited has removed overhead wires from 7 major routes and done underground cabling.
According to Mr. Abinash Mishra, Managing Director of Raipur Smart City Limited, the network of overhead wires was a big problem in dense settlements. While complaints of electricity theft were common, there was also a possibility of accidents due to these wires. The beauty of the city’s roads was also affected by the open wires. In view of this, Raipur Smart City Limited identified the areas of old settlements and did the work of laying electricity wires underground in 7 routes. With the cooperation of CSPDCL, electricity wires have been laid underground from Budheshwar Temple to Old Basti, Lakhe Nagar to Aamapara, Malviya Road.
