Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in a collective singing event held at Saraswati Shishu Mandir Higher Secondary School in Rohinipuram, Raipur, to mark the completion of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’. Chief Minister Shri Sai joined the students, teachers, and citizens present in singing ‘Vande Mataram’ in unison. The school premises were filled with a spirit of patriotism and national pride as the song resonated in perfect harmony. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a grant of ₹50 lakh for the development of Saraswati Shishu Mandir.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai remarked that ‘Vande Mataram’ is not merely a national song but a powerful expression of reverence for Mother India, national consciousness, and patriotism. During the arduous days of the freedom struggle, this song awakened the spirit of liberty among the people and inspired countless revolutionaries and freedom fighters to sacrifice everything for the freedom of the motherland.
The clarion call of ‘Vande Mataram’ became an embodiment of patriotism, courage, and resolve for the freedom fighters. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the occasion marking the completion of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ offers us an opportunity to reflect on our glorious history, the struggles of our freedom fighters, and their sacrifices. It also serves as a significant opportunity to instill in the new generation an awareness of their duties and responsibilities towards the nation.
Chief Minister Shri Sai noted that today, responding to the call of Vidya Bharati, over ten million students and citizens across the country are singing ‘Vande Mataram’ in unison. Such a massive, collective tribute to ‘Maa Bharati’ (Mother India) presents a magnificent spectacle of national unity and consciousness. He remarked that such events not only acquaint the new generation with the glorious history of ‘Vande Mataram’ and its role in the freedom movement but also strengthen their sense of patriotism and duty.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government has placed education among its top priorities. Our endeavor is to ensure that every child in Chhattisgarh—whether living in a city or in a remote region of Bastar or Sarguja—receives quality education and equal opportunities to hone their talents. To this end, educational facilities and resources for students are being continuously expanded across the state.
He mentioned that a conducive environment is being provided for Chhattisgarh’s talented students to pursue higher education and prepare for competitive examinations. The government is committed to ensuring that no talented child in the state is hindered in their progress due to a lack of resources.
The Chief Minister informed that the seating capacity for students at the Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi has been increased to 200. He noted that 13 students from Chhattisgarh studying there have successfully cleared the UPSC Preliminary Examination. This achievement stands as a testament to the talent, hard work, and potential for growth possessed by the state’s youth. He stated that given the right opportunities, guidance, and resources, the children of Chhattisgarh are capable of excelling in any field across the country.

Chief Minister Shri Sai remarked that the purpose of education extends beyond acquiring bookish knowledge or degrees. Education should impart values alongside knowledge, instill discipline, build character, and cultivate a sense of responsibility towards society and the nation among children. Youth grounded in values and patriotism form the strong foundation of an empowered society and a developed nation.
The Chief Minister noted that Vidya Bharati schools have long been performing the vital task of strengthening values, discipline, social responsibility, and patriotism alongside academics. Appreciating the contribution of all teachers dedicated to shaping the students’ personalities and futures, he remarked that teachers do not merely impart education; they also fulfill the crucial responsibility of guiding children’s lives in the right direction.

In an engaging interaction with the students, Chief Minister Shri Sai said, “You are the future of the country and of Chhattisgarh. In the coming years, the responsibility for the nation and society will rest on your shoulders. Therefore, dream big, set your goals, and work towards achieving them with utmost dedication, discipline, and honesty.”
He told the students that whether one aspires to become a Collector, SP, doctor, engineer, teacher, or any otherIf one wishes to serve the country and society in a particular field, one must clarify one’s goal right now and begin preparing for it. There are no shortcuts to success in life; even the most challenging goals can be achieved through firm determination, discipline, and persistent hard work.
The Chief Minister urged students to view their education and personal success in the context of the nation’s and society’s progress. He advised them to fulfill any responsibilities entrusted to them with utmost dedication and honesty, and to utilize their knowledge and talent in the service of society and the country.
- Five lakh people participated in a mass singing event at 1,500 locations across Chhattisgarh
Addressing the gathering, Shri Manik Lal Sahu stated that, following a call by Vidya Bharati, approximately one crore people across the country were singing ‘Vande Mataram’ simultaneously at 25,000 locations. In Chhattisgarh, five lakh people participated in this event across nearly 1,500 locations. Shri Nilesh Agrawal, President of the Maa Saraswati Bal Kalyan Samiti, remarked that ‘Vande Mataram’ is an expression of India’s national consciousness, spirit of sacrifice, and pride. He called upon everyone to internalize the ‘Panch Parivartan’ (Five Transformations)—namely social harmony, family awakening, environmental conservation, self-awareness, and civic duty—in their lives. He emphasized that positive changes in the lives of individuals and society pave the way for building a strong nation.
The event was attended by MLA Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Rajiv Lochan Maharaj, Shri Mayank Bais, Shri Raghavendra Singh Thakur, and Shri Ajay Kulshreshtha, along with a large number of students, teachers, members of the school community, and distinguished citizens.
