- The Chief Minister virtually performed the ground breaking ceremony for various development works worth Rs 226 crore 68 lakh for urban development.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today virtually participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for various development projects of the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation from the Chief Minister’s residence office in Nava Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai performed the groundbreaking ceremony for various development projects costing over ₹226 crore 68 lakh in the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation area. On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh joined the program virtually from the Assembly residence office in Raipur. School Education and District In-charge Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav, MP Shri Santosh Pandey, Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav, and other public representatives attended the groundbreaking ceremony held at Pushpavatika Yoga Hall, Rajnandgaon.
Congratulating the residents of Rajnandgaon, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that this groundbreaking ceremony is not just the beginning of development projects, but also lays a strong foundation for the city’s bright future. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government, with the motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas,” is continuously working towards the balanced and inclusive development of the state. Rajnandgaon plays a significant role in building a developed Chhattisgarh, furthering the commitment to a developed India. He stated that expanding civic amenities in line with the city’s growing population is among the government’s priorities, and through these projects, the goal is to bring the rays of development to every ward of the city. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that under the Amrit Mission 2.0, two new sewage treatment plants will be installed in the city for scientific treatment of domestic wastewater. This will prevent sewage from flowing directly into rivers and drains, protecting the environment as well as the health of citizens. He added that under the Chief Minister’s Nagaro Utthan Yojana, roads are being widened and beautified, which will facilitate smooth traffic flow and boost business activities.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai stated that a large, 2,000-seater, state-of-the-art auditorium will be built in Rajnandgaon, providing a new platform for the arts, literature, and cultural activities of the cultural capital. This will provide ample opportunities for local artists, writers, and youth to showcase their talents. He stated that this auditorium will create a new identity for the city. He also stated that special budget provisions have been made for the upgradation of Transport Nagar, construction of drains, pipeline expansion, and strengthening of basic amenities in 51 wards of the city. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai stated that new plants are being installed to strengthen waste management under the Swachh Bharat Mission. The goal is for Rajnandgaon to not only be a city participating in the Swachh Bharat Survey, but also to be recognized as one of the leading clean cities in the country. He stated that delivering the benefits of resources directly to the public is a priority of the government, and for this purpose, the pace of development work has been accelerated. The Chief Minister stated that with the guidance of Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and the support of local public representatives, Rajnandgaon is progressing rapidly. Through his vision and public participation, the city is being developed as a model city of Chhattisgarh. He also assured the early approval of pending infrastructure proposals related to the district’s development.
Addressing the event, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that Rajnandgaon is very close to his heart and today marks an important milestone in the city’s development. Expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister, he informed that a provision of ₹1,000 crore has been made for the overall development of Rajnandgaon district in the Sankalp Budget 2026-27. Dr. Singh also informed that projects worth ₹250 crore have been approved for the conservation, enhancement, and development of the Shivnath River. Furthermore, numerous development projects have been proposed through various departments, including ₹20 crore for the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, ₹20 crore for the School Education Department, ₹60 crore under the Urban Administration Department, and approximately ₹200 crore through the Public Works Department. He informed that for the development of sports facilities, a provision of Rs 8 crore 80 lakh has been made for construction of turf and other facilities in the hockey stadium and Rs 6 crore for strengthening the sports infrastructure in Digvijay Stadium, which will provide better sports facilities to the youth.
School Education and District In-Charge Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav stated that the groundbreaking ceremony for various development projects worth ₹226 crore 68 lakh for the Municipal Corporation is historic for the city. He stated that these projects will accelerate the development of roads, drains, drinking water, and other basic infrastructure in the city, providing better facilities to citizens. The Minister in-Charge stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the state government is continuously working to expand basic amenities in all cities across the state. He stated that due to the active participation of public representatives and officials of the Municipal Corporation, several infrastructure projects, including roads, drains, and drinking water pipelines, are being initiated in various wards of the city, which will address long-standing problems faced by citizens. Congratulating the Mayor, councilors, and officials of the Municipal Corporation, the Minister in-Charge stated that due to the coordinated efforts of all, Rajnandgaon city is progressing steadily towards development. He stated that in the future, development projects will continue to be prioritized, keeping the needs of citizens in mind. He appealed to citizens for cooperation in making the Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission) a success. He said that on the occasion of upcoming Chaitra Navratri and Hindu New Year, all citizens should maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings and participate in making the city clean and beautiful.
MP Shri Santosh Pandey congratulated all the residents of the city for the groundbreaking ceremony for various development projects worth ₹226 crore 68 lakh within the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation area. He called on all residents to work together and resolve to ensure Rajnandgaon city ranks first in the Swachhta Survey. MP Shri Santosh Pandey stated that Chhattisgarh was known as a Naxal-affected region in the country. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the work to free Chhattisgarh from Naxalism is progressing rapidly. Due to the government’s policies, Naxalites are returning to the mainland and are increasingly surrendering. He provided information regarding the public welfare initiatives being undertaken by the central and state governments. Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav stated that the state government is continuously striving for the overall development of Rajnandgaon. He stated that these initiatives will expand the city’s infrastructure and basic amenities. Mayor Mr. Yadav said that the state government has made provisions of approximately one thousand crore rupees for the development of Rajnandgaon district this financial year, which will give a new impetus to the district’s development. He appealed to the citizens to maintain cleanliness and ensure public participation to ensure the city gets a better ranking in the upcoming cleanliness survey. District Panchayat Chairperson Mrs. Kiran Vaishnav, District Cooperative Central Bank Limited Chairperson Mr. Sachiv Baghel, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Mr. Topendra Singh Paras Verma, former MLA Mr. Ramji Bharti, Mr. Khubchand Parikh, Mr. Santosh Agarwal, Mr. Komal Singh Rajput, Mr. Ramesh Patel, Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma, along with other councilors, public representatives, officers, employees and a large number of city residents were present at the program.
