- Buildings to be constructed in three districts at a cost of Rs 2.70 crore will strengthen the field implementation of departmental services and schemes.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is continuously making efforts to ensure that schemes related to the welfare of women and children reach the grassroots level with strong infrastructure. In this regard, thanks to the efforts of Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, construction of six project-cum-resource centers has been approved. The state government has granted administrative approval for these buildings totaling ₹27 million (270.9 million rupees). The first installment of ₹67 million (67.72 million rupees) has also been released in the financial year 2026-27.
The new buildings will be constructed in Bhaiyathan and Odgi in Surajpur district, Tamnar in Raigarh district, and Bijapur, Usur, and Bhopalpatnam in Bijapur district. ₹45.15 million has been approved for the construction of each building.
The Women and Child Development Department administers numerous schemes and services related to the development, health, nutrition, and protection of women and children’s rights and interests. Project-cum-Resource Centers play a crucial role in the field implementation of these schemes, coordinating departmental staff, and monitoring services. Building buildings tailored to current needs will provide better and more systematic facilities for departmental operations.
This approval is not limited to building construction alone, but is an important step towards more effective management of women and child development services. Improved infrastructure will facilitate departmental staff in implementing schemes and engaging with beneficiaries. It will also facilitate easier access to government welfare schemes and services for women and children. Strengthening departmental activities in remote and rural areas will ensure that government welfare initiatives reach the public in a more systematic manner.
According to the government order, a certificate of utilization of the first installment and a detailed description of the physical and financial progress of the construction work must be submitted along with the proposal for the next installment. The approved amount will be used in accordance with the prescribed expenditure limits and government regulations.
