The continuous efforts being made by the Health Department to provide timely health services to needy patients in remote and tribal dominated areas of Balrampur district have yielded positive results.
Mrs. Basanti, a high-risk pregnant hill Korwa woman from the Rajpur development block, returned to her village without receiving treatment from the District Hospital, Ambikapur, for some reason. Upon receiving this information, departmental staff immediately swung into action and made necessary preparations to provide the woman with prompt medical care.
As a result of the coordinated and prompt efforts of the Health Department’s field staff, the Mitanin, the 102 ambulance team, and the hospital’s doctors, Mrs. Basanti gave birth to three healthy babies. Currently, the mother and all three newborns are completely healthy and under medical supervision.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh stated that timely identification, regular monitoring, and immediate referral are crucial for high-risk pregnant women. He added that providing safe motherhood to every pregnant woman in remote and tribal areas is the department’s top priority. He commended the vigilant health staff, prompt ambulance service, and excellent coordination between field workers.
