Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam attended the Lord Krishna Janmashtami celebrations organized by the Milk Business Welfare Association in Navagaon, Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur, on Friday. He extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.

Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Netam said that it is not possible for everyone to get government employment, but becoming self-reliant through self-employment is in everyone’s hands. He said that there is considerable business potential in the field of dairy production. Cow and buffalo rearing is generally easy at home at low cost. Women especially help in this work. He said that by doing dairy business, one can empower the family.
- ‘The aim is to provide employment to maximum number of families and women in milk production’
Minister Netam said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government has launched a dairy cow rearing scheme in five districts of Bastar. Women interested in milk production are eligible for this scheme. He said that in order to provide employment to as many families and women as possible in his area, milk chilling plants have been set up to encourage them into the dairy business. A cluster has been created to collect milk.
