Stay away from drugs for the sake of the country, for the family and for yourself: Prime Minister Shri Modi

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually launched the Nationwide Campaign of ‘Nashmukt Yuva for Developed Bharat Sankalp’ from New Delhi. This campaign is a movement of people’s participation in the direction of social development to ensure the youth of the country to stay away from drugs and to ensure the positive utilization of their energy in building the nation. The launch program of this national campaign was telecasted live in all the states of the country. Governors of 24 states, Chief Ministers of 11 states participated virtually in the program. Special programs were organized to mark the launch of the campaign at 28 locations across the country. This campaign will continue for the next 100 weeks with the collective and proactive efforts of the Union Youth Program and Sports Ministry, State and Union Territory Governments and My Bharat Yuva Sangathan. Under the campaign, the citizens, especially the youth, will be motivated to stay away from drugs. As part of the campaign, special activities related to social service and public awareness will be organized on every Sunday.

The program was organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MAINT) on the occasion of the launch of the nationwide campaign. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in the launch of the campaign from this program . Chief Minister Dr. Yadav here gave an oath to everyone to stay away from all kinds of drugs and lead a drug free life for a drug free India and a drug free Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Shri Modi addressed the Drug Free Youth Far Evolved Bharat Abhiyan program virtually. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav listened to the Prime Minister’s Nation Address from Minutes. On this occasion, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare and Cooperation Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang, Additional Chief Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare Shri Manu Srivastava, Director of Mainit Prof. Manmohan Kapse, State Director of My Bharat Yuva Sangathan Mr. Mangalram Jakhar, Public Relations Commissioner Mr. Manish Singh, Collector Mr. Priyank Mishra along with all faculties, professors and a large number of students and youth colleagues were present.

  • State governments should implement this campaign in mission mode

Launching the campaign and addressing the nation virtually from New Delhi, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that this campaign is for an individual, family, society and the entire nation. He said that last year there was a spiritual program in Kashi. In this, a philanthropic and national welfare thought born as a need to run a social movement to keep the youth away from drugs through the Kashi Declaration has now taken the form of a campaign for the entire country. He said that when a youth falls into the grip of drug addiction, a dream is lost, a family is lost. Nasha takes away life’s smile. Why does addiction destroy the whole personality? So our young fellows should stay away from all kinds of drugs for the sake of their country, society, family and themselves. Prime Minister Shri Modi called upon all the State and Union Territories Governments of the country to implement this National Punit Abhiyan in their respective states in mission mode. During the campaign, organize every Sunday with social participation, in which more and more youths participate and they are determined to stay away from drug addiction and make others aware about it. Expressing happiness, Prime Minister Shri Modi said that on the occasion of the launch of the campaign, more than 1 crore youth of the country took a pledge to stay away from drugs. The Prime Minister congratulated the volunteers of My Bharat Yuva Sangathan and said that with everyone’s efforts this campaign will reach every corner of the country. Join our young comrades in this campaign and come forward unitedly to make the country a developed India by 2047.

Union Minister of Labor and Employment, Youth Program and Sports addressing the launch program of the campaign virtually from Amrit Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Faridabad. Mansukh Mandaviya said that a healthy body creates a healthy society and a healthy society creates a prosperous nation. Amritkal of the country is going on. Today’s generation is the Amrit generation of the country. He said that the entire country has made Swachh Bharat Mission a success with the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Our country is now free from open defecation and free from Naxalite problem. The Fit India Movement is running successfully in the country under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Shri Modi also launched the Nationwide Drug Free Youth for Development Bharat Sankalp Mission today. He said that addiction is not a crime, it is an illness that can be cured. He said that addiction is just one thing, it destroys the whole life. That’s why distance from addiction is very important. He said that drug-free India is not just a government, it is a campaign to bring social consciousness. To create a developed India we have to keep our youth away from drugs and this is our collective responsibility.

Before the launch of the nationwide campaign, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav while addressing the program in Mainit said that India is the largest democratic and young country in the world. Swami Vivekananda said a hundred years ago that the 21st century will belong to India with the power of youth. In such a way, the anti-drug campaign is going on under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi to create a powerful and all-round India. Today we are being a part of the launch program of ‘Nashmukt Yuva for Developed India’ Sankalp Abhiyan by Prime Minister Shri Modi from Sub Mainit campus. He said that the government of Madhya Pradesh is giving understanding to the people by running a campaign to get rid of drugs in every street, neighborhood, village and intersection and is also taking strict action against the criminals involved in the illegal drug trade. The Chief Minister said that we have imposed liquor ban on 19 religious towns of the state within the boundaries of the bodies and panchayats. Liquor shops have been removed. He said that now the smoking shops along the roads are gradually decreasing. But at the present time, other types of addiction are on the rise. Various kinds of things have come to spoil the youth. Our government has established better coordination with neighboring states to strictly crack down on illegal drug trade and smuggling of drug paraphernalia in the region.

  • Congratulations to the police department for the ‘Nashe Se Dastri Hai Nagarhi 2.0 Abhiyaan’

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the Madhya Pradesh Police for running the ‘Nashe Se Dastri Hai Neshri 2.0 Abhiyaan’. He said that the resolution of de-addiction is not the work of only one department. There should be an active partnership of the whole society including the civilized and educated classes for de-addiction. He said that after independence, some of the elite states of the country were in trouble due to the problem of drug addiction. There is a need to take steps with a firm resolve to make Madhya Pradesh drug free. He said that the central government has resolved to make India drug-free by the year 2029. We will continue to win the war of victory over this evil of freedom from all kinds of addictions. The Chief Minister said that with the unwavering resolve of Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Shah, our country has got rid of the problem of Naxalism. Madhya Pradesh had given the last salute to Lal Salam before the deadline of March 31, 2026. The banditry problem from the land of Madhya Pradesh is also not completely over. This is the result of our commitment.

  •  Keep distance from all kinds of drugs

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that drug free India is the first condition of developed India and drug free youth is the biggest base of developed India. Let us keep away from all kinds of drugs in our daily life, because it harms the body. It is said in the scriptures that man can attain God through body practice. There is infinite energy in our body. Let us all use this power in the right direction and keep moving forward in the direction of achieving the vision of Developed India@2047 by distancing ourselves from drugs. Drug addiction affects everything in our health, punishment, employment, social respect. Home and family are ruined by addiction. The state government is very sensitive to the crimes taking place under the influence of drugs. Rehabilitation opportunities are also being provided to people who are intoxicated. Our body is a temple of clean thoughts. Yuva Shakti Recognize your own strength, distance yourself from drug habits and inspire others to do the same.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that our history has been very glorious for centuries. This is the culture where great heroes like Indrajit, Mahavirs like Lord Shri Rama, Shri Krishna, Gautama Buddha and Mahavir Swami were born. Our culture inspires the spirit of ‘Live and Live’ with self-restraint. He said that the land of India has always attracted the world for its knowledge and yoga. So let us consider the whole world as one family and work for the welfare and well-being of all.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that through healthy youth, empowered society and prosperous Madhya Pradesh, we have to prove the Amrit Kal Sankalp of developed India. For this, let us all take this pledge that we will not get drunk on ourselves, nor will we let anyone get drunk, and will spread awareness in the society. Appealing to all youths of the region, social organizations, teachers, principals, teachers, doctors, district and police administration and all the volunteers to join this campaign actively and make it a mass movement.

In the program, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Sarang said that addiction destroys the entire society. To build a strong and self-reliant India, we have to keep our youth away from drugs. Our government is making many efforts for de-addiction. He appealed to the new generation that we all should resolve to stay away from any type of drug addiction. He said that we should go ahead with the message of drug addiction in every village, every town, every school, every college and every family. This campaign will be successful with public participation and collective efforts.

Initially Chief Minister Dr. Yadav started the program by lighting the lamp. The State Director of My Bharat Yuva Sangathan thanked everyone.
