Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao performed the groundbreaking ceremony for various development projects in Rajnandgaon city worth ₹43 crore 61 lakh 26 thousand. This includes the construction of the state’s largest 2000-seater auditorium at a cost of ₹15 crore 92 lakh. Additionally, various infrastructure development projects, including roads, drains, electrification, drinking water, crematorium upgrades, and community halls, will be undertaken in various wards. The program will also include road, drain, and electrification projects in various wards at a cost of ₹12 crore 9 lakh 44 thousand from the 15th Finance Commission. The infrastructure fund will also include road, drain, crematorium upgrades, and community hall construction at a cost of ₹11 crore 57 lakh. Under the Chief Minister’s announcement, road, drain, and community hall construction will be undertaken in four wards at a cost of ₹1 crore, and pipeline extensions will be undertaken in various wards at a cost of ₹3 crore 2 lakh 82 thousand from the 15th Finance Commission. 1,000 saplings were also distributed at the event.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, stated that the 2,000-seater auditorium to be built in Rajnandgaon will be a historic achievement for the city. The auditorium will have adequate facilities for large events, including parking, corridors, and seating arrangements for approximately 1,000 people. This auditorium will become a major hub for large events for Rajnandgaon and the surrounding urban areas. He stated that development work worth over ₹43 crore (approximately $4.3 billion) is underway in various wards of Rajnandgaon, including roads, drains, concrete roads, interlocking, lighting, and pipeline expansion. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, development work has gained momentum in all areas of Rajnandgaon. Demands and proposals raised by public representatives are being approved on priority.
In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that today is a historic day for the city of Rajnandgaon. The city has received development projects worth over 43 crore rupees. In the past two years, since the formation of the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sao, the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation has received approximately 267 crore rupees for development projects through various schemes.
He stated that the state government is continuously working in a planned manner to make the state’s cities clean, beautiful, and comfortable. He called on the residents of Rajnandgaon to pledge to make the city a national leader in cleanliness. He stated that if citizens and the Municipal Corporation work together, Rajnandgaon can achieve the first position in the country in the field of cleanliness.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Saw promised to soon approve several important development projects for Rajnandgaon city. He stated that approvals worth approximately ₹3 crore are underway for the beautification of Gandhi Chowk, Post Office Chowk, Nandai Chowk, and other major squares. He also informed that a ₹14 crore plan is being prepared for the redevelopment of Rani Sagar and Budha Sagar ponds. He said that approval of Rs 6 crore 85 lakh for road widening from GE Road to Lakholi Kabadi Dukan, Rs 6 crore 90 lakh for road construction from RK Nagar Chowk to Dongargaon Road and Rs 5 crore 50 lakh for road widening from Bypass Kanharpuri to Tiranga Chowk would be given soon. Similarly, he informed that approval of Rs 4 crore for re-repair work of Mohra water plant and Rs 12 crore 61 lakh for construction of overhead tanks in Dhaba, Gauri Nagar and Gokul Nagar would be given soon.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao said that along with development, cleanliness is also an important pillar of a city’s identity. He appealed to citizens to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings, avoid littering drains and roads, and cooperate with the Municipal Corporation’s sanitation system. He stated that through collective efforts, the goal of making Rajnandgaon the first state in the country in the field of cleanliness can be achieved. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is fulfilling Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s guarantees and is continuously planning and working for the overall development of Chhattisgarh’s cities.
MP Shri Santosh Pandey said that the government has provided a grant of ₹43 crore 61 lakh 26 thousand for the development of Rajnandgaon city. Other development works, including the Nalanda complex, are being carried out under the Municipal Corporation of Rajnandgaon. The central and state governments are continuously working for the development of the district. He informed that the central government is laying a new railway line from Parmalkasa to Kharsia, and the fourth railway line has also become operational. Rajnandgaon and Dongargarh railway stations are being developed as model and Amrit railway stations. Construction of the Gaurinagar and Station Para underbridges will be completed by December. Construction of the Motipur underbridge will also commence soon. He informed that a new railway line from Dongargarh to Katghora has been approved, with Dongargarh as its junction point. Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey stated that Rajnandgaon is a land of talent, a land of hard work and diligence. The district’s talented athlete, Gyaneshwari Yadav, has made the country proud by winning a medal for the country in the Commonwealth Games.
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav stated that groundbreaking ceremonies have been held for various projects worth ₹43.61 billion (₹26.26 billion) for the development of Rajnandgaon. He informed that an 800-seater auditorium is available in Rajnandgaon city. Additionally, groundbreaking ceremonies have been held for a 2,000-seater auditorium costing ₹15.92 billion (₹15.92 billion). The construction of this auditorium will provide a suitable venue for large events in the future. Keeping in mind the balanced development of all 51 wards of Rajnandgaon city, groundbreaking ceremonies were held for development works worth ₹12 crore and ₹3 crore from the 15th Finance Commission, ₹1 crore for water supply under the Chief Minister’s announcement, and ₹11.57 crore for infrastructure. On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Mr. Neelu Sharma, Labor Welfare Board Chairman Mr. Yogesh Dutt Mishra, District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Mr. Sachin Baghel, Rajgami Sampada Trust Chairman Mrs. Purnima Sahu, Mr. Khubchand Parikh, Mr. Komal Singh Rajput, Mr. Santosh Agarwal, Mr. Ramesh Patel, Mr. Rajesh Shyamkar, Mr. Rajendra Golchha, Mr. Saurabh Kothari, Municipal Corporation Chairman Mr. Paras Verma, Superintendent of Police Ms. Ankita Sharma, District Panchayat CEO Mr. Durga Prasad Adhikari, along with a large number of public representatives, councilors, officers, employees, and citizens were present.
