  • Netra Prabha Joshi Receives Financial Relief of ₹81,648 on Family ‘Release Deed’ Registration
  • Registration Fee Reduced from 0.8% to a Flat Rate of ₹500; Transfer of Family Property Becomes More Affordable
  • Citizens Benefit from Improvements in Registration Services under the Leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the Guidance of Finance and Registration Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary

Reforms introduced by the state government to simplify and make the registration of documents related to family property more affordable are providing significant financial relief to citizens. For Smt. Netra Prabha Joshi, a resident of Jagdalpur in Bastar district, the concessions on registration fees for a ‘release deed’ (family relinquishment deed) proved to be a major support. By reducing the registration fee for a release deed between members of a joint family—from 0.8% of the property’s market value to a flat rate of just ₹500—she achieved a direct financial saving of ₹81,648. This relief ensured that the registration of the family property document was completed at a lower cost, thereby easing the financial burden on the family.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the initiative and guidance of Finance and Registration Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, the Registration Department is continuously implementing improvements for the convenience of citizens. Key reforms include the simplification of the registration process, fee concessions, the expansion of digital services, and the development of ‘smart’ registration offices. To understand how these measures are benefiting the general public, the department is engaging directly with beneficiaries under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to gather their experiences and suggestions.

  • Savings of Over ₹81,000 Provide Significant Relief to the Family

Sharing her experience under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,’ Smt. Netra Prabha Joshi mentioned that she benefited from the concessional registration fee prescribed by the government while registering a ‘release deed’ related to the relinquishment of family property rights. This arrangement resulted in savings of Rs 81,648 for her. Saving such a significant amount on the registration of property-related documents proved to be a major financial relief for her family.

Mrs. Joshi noted that the reduction in registration fees has made it more affordable to register essential documents concerning family property. This has spared the family from additional financial burdens. Describing this facility as highly beneficial for ordinary citizens, she expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai and the Minister for Finance and Registration, Mr. O.P. Choudhary.

  • Registration fee for family relinquishment deeds now only Rs 500

The state government has introduced a significant change to the registration fees for ‘family relinquishment deeds’ (relinquishment of rights within a joint family). Previously, the registration fee for such documents was set at 0.8 percent of the property’s market value; this has now been reduced to a flat fee of just Rs 500. This decision provides financial relief to eligible families when formalizing property rights or registering relinquishment deeds.

This measure is proving particularly useful for families who previously had to incur high costs to register documents related to the relinquishment of family property. The Rs 81,648 saved by Mrs. Netra Prabha Joshi from Jagdalpur serves as a prime example. The funds saved through this reduction in registration fees can now be utilized for other family needs.

  • Digital facilities make the registration process simpler and more transparent

Under the guidance of the Minister for Finance and Registration, Mr. O.P. Choudhary, the Registration Department is continuously expanding its technology-driven services. Features such as online appointments, digital documentation, online payments, and ‘auto-mutation’ are making the property registration process far more convenient for citizens. These reforms aim to save citizens both time and money, while simultaneously enhancing transparency and efficiency in registration procedures. Smart Registration Offices with Comprehensive Amenities Being Developed in the State

Smart registration offices are being developed across the state with the objective of providing a better environment and modern facilities to citizens. These offices feature amenities such as air-conditioned waiting areas, digital token systems, help desks, online appointment scheduling, free Wi-Fi, and clean restrooms.

In the first phase, registration offices located in CBD Naya Raipur, Babylon Tower, Shriram Business Park (Saddu), Abhanpur, Tilda, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Durg, and Kunkuri have been upgraded to a modern standard. These offices are designed to ensure that citizens can complete their registration tasks in a comfortable environment while receiving necessary guidance.

  • Stories of Change Emerging from the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Commitment Campaign)

The Registration Department’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ has become a platform for gathering feedback and suggestions from citizens. Through this campaign, the department engages with beneficiaries to understand the tangible benefits resulting from improvements made to registration services.

The story of Smt. Netra Prabha Joshi from Jagdalpur illustrates how reforms in registration fees are providing direct financial relief to families. Saving ₹81,648 on the registration of a family relinquishment deed (family haktyag) is not merely a fee concession for her; it represents a significant sum of money that has become available to address the family’s financial needs.
