The greatest success of digital governance is considered when technology becomes a convenience for the common citizen. One such sensitive initiative was seen in Mahadevpur village of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, where elderly farmer Mrs. Bogi Bai did not have to visit government offices for AgriStack registration. The administrative team personally visited her home and completed the entire registration process on the spot.
At this age, farming is Mrs. Bogi Bai’s primary source of livelihood. The paddy grown on her farm is crucial to her financial prospects for the entire year. When she learned that not having Agristack registration could hinder her access to digital crop surveys, paddy sales, and various agricultural services, she naturally became concerned. A lack of knowledge of digital processes and technical resources posed a significant obstacle.
Mrs. Bogi Bai, a resident of Mahadevpur, owns approximately 6.87 hectares of agricultural land. Understanding her situation, the administrative team visited her home, verified the necessary documents, and completed the Agristack registration process, connecting her to the digital agriculture system. The relief and satisfaction on her face was evident after the completion of the process she had been worried about.
Under the guidance of Collector Mrs. Chandan Sanjay Tripathi, a door-to-door AgriStack registration campaign is being conducted in the district. In the Ramanujganj section in particular, a joint team of the Revenue and Agriculture Departments is visiting villages to ensure farmer registration. In Mahadevpur village, 159 farmers have been identified, and most of them have already been registered. Efforts are underway to complete the registration of the remaining 49 farmers soon.
Through AgriStack, farmers’ land, crop, and agricultural information is being integrated into a digital platform, making access to digital crop surveys, agricultural schemes, subsidies, insurance, and other services more transparent, systematic, and accessible. This work is being continuously monitored at the field level by subdivisional officers, tehsildars, and revenue officials. Along with camps, door-to-door registration is ensuring that no farmer is deprived of government services due to technical reasons.
This initiative in Mahadevpur isn’t just about helping a woman farmer, but also demonstrates that the government’s digital systems are being made humane and intuitive for farmers’ convenience. Where mobile phones, internet, and online processes can be challenging for elderly rural residents, the administration is providing solutions directly at their doorsteps.
