Keeping in view the public health and consumer interests, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has banned with immediate effect the manufacture, storage, distribution, sale, supply and use of dairy analogues and non-dairy food products imitating real milk products. In compliance with the order, necessary action is being taken to ensure transparency in the real nature and identity of food items and to protect public health and consumer interests from misleading the consumers.
Various food establishments were inspected on Thursday by Food Safety Administration under the direction of Commissioner, Food Safety, Madhya Pradesh and under the guidance of Collector Shri Harsh Singh. During inspection, samples were taken for examination of food items being sold as dairy analogue and real milk products and stocks of analogue category food items were seized.
During the action, Saeed Mawa Se Mawa Ki was checked. 150 kg of mawa, estimated value of which is 25 thousand rupees, was seized from here, edible sample of mawa was also taken. Similarly, 33 Kg Sridi Ghee, whose estimated value is Rs 23 thousand 100, was seized from Lavesh Traders, Mahajanapet, a sample of Ghee was also taken for examination. Apart from this, samples of cream and paneer were taken from Dhananjay Traders, Burhanpur, which have been sent for testing. In this operation, 183 kilograms of food material was seized, the estimated value of which is Rs 48 thousand 100.
After receiving the inspection report of the food samples taken by the Food Safety Administration, necessary advance statutory action will be taken as per the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the rules and orders issued thereunder.
