- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana provides a safe and dignified life to Ashaka Yalam
Under the sensitive initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the guidance of Forest and District In-charge Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, the benefits of the government’s public welfare schemes are reaching needy families. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has also brought new happiness to the life of Ashaka Yalam, wife of Shri Yalam Chandraiah, a resident of Ward No. 03 of Bhopalpatnam urban area in Bijapur district. After living in a mud house for years, their dream of a permanent house has now come true.
- There was trouble in the mud house during the rainy season
Ashaka Yalam’s financial situation was tenuous. Living in a mud house, they faced numerous problems, including water leaking from the roof during rainy seasons. The family’s financial situation was too low to allow them to build a permanent home. Therefore, a permanent home remained a distant dream for them.
- Housing approval received through ‘More Land More House’
In 2017, officials from the Bhopalpatnam Municipal Council and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana team informed him about the “More Land, More House” scheme under the BLC component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. His application was then prepared and sent to the government, and approval was granted for the construction of his house.
- Housing construction started with the help of officials
Due to financial difficulties, Ashaka Yalam was unable to begin construction for some time. Afterward, officials from the Bhopalpatnam Municipal Council encouraged her to begin construction. They also helped her connect with local masons and laborers. She gradually completed the construction of her permanent home.
- Confidence increased after getting a permanent house
Today, Ashaka Yalam lives a safe and dignified life in her own permanent home. She says she never dreamed she would own a permanent home. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) has made her dream a reality.
- Expressed gratitude to the government
Ashaka Yalam expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Forest and District In-Charge Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, and the local administration for providing her with a permanent home. For her, this permanent home is not just a home, but a new beginning toward security, dignity, and a better future.
