A Message of Affection Resonates at Lok Bhavan: Differently-Abled Children Tie Raksha Sutra to Governor Shri Ramen Deka

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, hearing-impaired children from ‘Kopal Vani’ and young children from ‘Mini Marvels School’ visited Lok Bhavan today to tie handmade rakhis onto the wrist of Governor Shri Ramen Deka. While tying the raksha sutra, the children wished the Governor a healthy, happy, and long life and explained the unique features of the rakhis they had crafted themselves. Afterward, the children offered sweets to the Governor.

The occasion of Raksha Bandhan was filled with warmth and emotion as the rakhis, crafted by innocent hands, adorned Governor Shri Deka’s wrist. Happily accepting the children’s affection, the Governor blessed them and boosted their spirits by presenting them with gifts.

The joy and enthusiasm on the children’s faces upon arriving at Lok Bhavan were a sight to behold. For the differently-abled children of ‘Kopal Vani’ in particular, the occasion was one of honor, self-confidence, and pride. Crafting the rakhis themselves and tying them onto the Governor’s wrist served as a beautiful example of the children’s creativity, skills, and self-reliance. The event also conveyed the message that differently-abled children are an integral part of the social mainstream and deserve equal opportunities and encouragement.

Appreciating the children’s talent and enthusiasm, Governor Shri Deka remarked that Raksha Bandhan is a festival of love, affection, and mutual trust. He described the children’s heartfelt affection as truly touching. Wishing them a bright future, he stated that society must make continuous efforts to encourage the talent of differently-abled children and provide them with equal opportunities to progress.

Smt. Padma Sharma (Founder of Kopal Vani), Shraddha Sahu, and Sonia Damni were present on the occasion. Teachers, including Smt. Anubhuti Srivastava (Director of Mini Marvels School), were also in attendance.
