  • A major milestone in developing Naya Raipur as an education and knowledge hub

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, a significant achievement has been added today in the effort to position Chhattisgarh among the country’s leading states in higher education, skills, and knowledge. Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS)—one of the nation’s prestigious higher education institutions—will now establish a campus in Naya Raipur Atal Nagar. In the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the lease agreement and land registry processes for the institute’s establishment were completed today, paving the way for NMIMS to set up operations in Naya Raipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sai stated that the state government is continuously working to ensure that the youth of Chhattisgarh do not have to travel to major metropolitan cities for quality, modern higher education and can access opportunities comparable to the country’s top institutions right here in their own state. The establishment of NMIMS is a crucial step toward this commitment. He emphasized that preparing the state’s youth for future needs by providing quality education, skill development, and better employment opportunities is a priority for the government.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, Principal Secretary Subodh Singh, Housing and Environment Secretary Ankit Anand, and Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority CEO Chandan Kumar were present on the occasion.

  • State-of-the-art Campus to be Developed on 40 Acres

A modern NMIMS campus will be developed on approximately 40 acres of land in Sector-18 of Naya Raipur Atal Nagar. The land has been leased for 90 years to Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), the body managing the institute. The State Council of Ministers approved the land allocation proposal for the institute on January 21, 2026. Following this, the necessary procedures were expedited, and the crucial steps of the lease agreement and land registration were completed today.

The goal is to complete the entire process of establishing the institute within the next seven years; however, students from the state will begin to reap the benefits much sooner. The target is to commence the first academic batch within two to three years. Once fully developed, the institute will accommodate approximately 10,000 students.

  • Opening New Doors to Quality Higher Education for the Youth

The establishment of a prestigious institute like NMIMS will expand new possibilities in the higher education sector of Chhattisgarh. The state’s youth will have the opportunity to receive national-standard education in management, skill development, and modern, employment-oriented courses right within their own state.

This will reduce the need for talented students to travel to major metropolitan cities across the country for quality higher education. Simultaneously, students from various parts of the country will come to Chhattisgarh to study, fostering a diverse and enriching academic environment in Nava Raipur.

  • Boosting Employment, Skills, and Entrepreneurship Alongside Education

The impact of establishing NMIMS will extend beyond higher education. The institute will create new opportunities in the state across the sectors of skill development, employment, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Enhanced coordination among students, faculty, researchers, and the corporate world will help cultivate a skilled workforce aligned with the evolving needs of the industry.

The presence of a national-level institute will also expand the scope for collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors. Students will gain better opportunities to engage with practical experience, innovation, and entrepreneurship. This will also increase the availability of skilled youth for the emerging industrial and service sectors in the state. Nava Raipur Set to Strengthen Its Identity as a National-Level Education Hub

The state government is moving forward with plans to develop Nava Raipur Atal Nagar into an education and knowledge hub, alongside transforming it into a city equipped with modern infrastructure and superior connectivity. The establishment of a prestigious institution like NMIMS here will provide fresh momentum to this vision.

The arrival of students, faculty, and researchers from various states across the country will enrich the educational, cultural, and intellectual landscape of Nava Raipur. Concurrently, there will be an expansion in education-related support activities, services, and employment opportunities. This will further solidify Nava Raipur’s standing as one of the country’s emerging major educational centers.

It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government’s youth-centric development policy places special emphasis on integrating education, skills, innovation, and employment. The establishment of NMIMS represents a significant step toward translating this vision into reality. Upon the completion of the lease agreement and land registry process…A new chapter is set to be added to the higher education landscape of Chhattisgarh. In the coming years, this institution will not only provide quality education to thousands of the state’s youth but also play a pivotal role in establishing Naya Raipur as a national-level hub for education, skills, and knowledge.
