Shaheed Smarak Bhavan, Jaystambh Chowk. The stage was set, the lights were dazzling, and as the melodies took shape, the entire auditorium resonated with applause. The grand finale of the ‘Guru Vandan’ Tiranga Fest—organized to dedicate the month of September to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan—witnessed a magnificent confluence of art, culture, the Guru-Shishya (teacher-disciple) tradition, and patriotism.
Held as an innovative initiative under the directives of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of the Raipur District Administration, the special event featured around 30 performances, including classical music, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, dance, songs, patriotic numbers, and a virtual air program. Participants showcased their artistic skills with immense enthusiasm and confidence.
Dignitaries present on stage included Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Collector of Raipur; Shri Sambit Mishra, Commissioner, Raipur Municipal Corporation; Shri Yugal Kishore Urvasha, Commissioner, Birgaon Municipal Corporation; Shri Naveen Thakur, Additional Collector; Shri Kirtiman Singh Rathore, Additional Collector; and Shri Amar Gidwani, Chairman, Culture Department, Raipur Municipal Corporation.
Raipur District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh honored and encouraged the participants—ranging from young children and youth to seasoned artists—by presenting them with certificates. He also recognized the teachers, officials, and staff from Kala Kendra Raipur, Raipur Municipal Corporation, and the School Education Department for their successful management of the event. District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh made a humble appeal to all citizens to attend the ‘Tiranga Shakti Fest’ events in large numbers and encourage the artists showcasing their talents on stage. Such encouragement boosts the artists’ morale and helps further refine their artistic skills.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Sambit Mishra commended the organization of the ‘Tiranga Shakti Fest’—held under the guidance of the Raipur District Collector—and extended his best wishes for success to the participating artists.
Shri Amar Gidwani, Head of the Municipal Corporation’s Culture Department, praised the organizers for the successful event and conveyed his best wishes for the success of future planned events.
- Little Artists as Young as Five Take the Stage
A highlight of the event was seeing young artists, aged around five, perform on stage. With their tiny steps and immense confidence, these children won the hearts of the audience.
The competition featured two age categories: 5 to 15 years and 15 to 70 years. This age range made the program unique, creating a beautiful blend of the innocent talent of children and the experience of senior participants on a single stage.

With the theme for September being ‘Guru Vandan’ (Tribute to Teachers), the participation of both teachers and students made the event even more special. Teachers also showcased their talents on stage.
The enthusiasm of the teachers was a sight to behold. As they stepped into the role of performers alongside their students, the spirit of the Guru-Shishya (teacher-disciple) tradition truly came alive.
- The ‘Tiranga Fest’ Theme to Change Monthly
Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh stated that the most significant feature of the ‘Tiranga Fest’ is that its theme will change every month, with events centered around different sections of society and great historical figures. According to Raipur District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, the themes for the upcoming ‘Tiranga Fest’ events will be determined based on the birth anniversaries of great figures and other significant occasions.
- A Platform for ‘Antyodaya’
The event marking the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay—the proponent of the philosophy of ‘Integral Humanism’ (Ekatma Manavvad)—on September 25th will be dedicated to the spirit of ‘Antyodaya Diwas’ (Upliftment of the Last Person). Its objective is to provide a platform for the vision of ensuring that development and dignity reach the very last person in society.
On this occasion, special prominence will be given to individuals playing vital roles at the grassroots level, such as ‘Swachhata Didis’ (sanitation workers), ‘Pink Didis’, and ‘Safai Didis’.
- A Platform for Women on Rani Lakshmibai’s Birth Anniversary
For the upcoming ‘Tiranga Shakti Fest’ scheduled for November 19th—coinciding with the birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmibai—the stage will be dedicated to women. Only female participants will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents.
- Youth Take Center Stage on Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary
Youth aged 15 to 29 will play the lead role in the ‘Tiranga Fest’ organized on January 12th, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. This special event aims to provide a platform for the talent, energy, ideas, and creativity of the youth.
- A Grand Confluence of Poetry in December
The ‘Tiranga Fest’ in December will be dedicated to the former Prime Minister and renowned poet, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A grand Kavi Sammelan (poetic symposium) will be organized on December 25th—Atal-ji’s birth anniversary, which is also observed as ‘Good Governance Day’—featuring a beautiful confluence of poetry, literature, and patriotism.
- Four Organizations, One Platform, One Objective
The ‘Tiranga Shakti Fest’ is being organized through the joint efforts of the Raipur District Administration, Raipur Municipal Corporation, Kala Kendra, and the School Education Department.
Its objective is to provide a shared platform in Raipur for art, culture, literature, patriotism, and social causes.
The ‘Guru Vandan’ Grand Finale has given this initiative a distinct identity. The rhythmic beats of Kathak, the expressive gestures of Bharatanatyam, melodious songs, patriotic fervor, and the innocent performances by children demonstrated that talent knows no age.
