- Revenue Minister Honors Blood Donors
A grand blood donation camp was organized in the Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara district as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign) to mark the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 successful years in public service. Youth and public representatives participated enthusiastically in this humanitarian initiative held at the District Hospital, Baloda Bazar, and the Civil Hospital, Bhatapara, resulting in the collection of a total of 94 units of blood.
- One Unit of Blood Can Save Up to Three Lives
Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma stated that blood donation is a noble act performed by a healthy individual that can grant a new life to someone in need. A single unit of donated blood can save up to three lives; your blood can give life to another. Blood is invaluable; one must donate it.
State Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma visited the camp to inspect the proceedings and encourage the donors. He honored the participating youth and citizens by presenting them with roses and certificates of appreciation. Minister Verma remarked that blood donation is a supreme act of charity capable of giving a new lease of life to someone facing an unexpected crisis. Every capable citizen in society should come forward to participate in this noble cause.
- Public Representatives Set an Inspiring Example by Donating Blood
The camp witnessed active participation from both administrative officials and public representatives. Zila Panchayat President Akanksha Jaiswal and Vice-President Pawan Sahu set an exemplary precedent for the youth by donating blood themselves. Of the 94 units collected, 51 units were recorded at the Bhatapara Civil Hospital and 43 units at the Baloda Bazar District Hospital. According to the Health Department, the collected blood will be used to treat individuals critically injured in road accidents, sickle cell patients, pregnant women, and patients requiring emergency surgery. Municipal Council President Ashok Jain, former MLAs Shivratan Sharma and Pramod Sharma, Janpad President Sulochana Yadu, and State Vice-President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Vijay Kesharwani, along with the Chief Medical and Health Officer and the Civil Surgeon, were notably present on this occasion.
