Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the three-day ‘India Industrial Fair-2026′ organized by Laghu Udyog Bharti at the Science College Ground in the capital Raipur. On this occasion, the Chief Minister welcomed entrepreneurs, investors and industrial representatives from various states of the country to Chhattisgarh and invited them to participate in the state’s development journey and take advantage of the vast investment opportunities available here.Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh, with its traditional industrial strength, is today rapidly moving towards a new economy and emerging industries. Mineral resources, energy, forest wealth, abundant human resources, and a favorable geographical location in the center of the country are our inherent strengths. The state government is working to integrate these strengths with modern technology, improved infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies to establish Chhattisgarh as a leading industrial and investment destination in the country.He said that our government’s role is not merely that of a regulator for industries. We are developing the government as a partner and accelerator, facilitating the path of industry and investment. Our effort is to provide investors with a simple, transparent, and timely system at every stage, from the time an investment proposal is submitted to the time when the industry is established.The Chief Minister expressed his pleasure at Laghu Udyog Bharti’s selection of Raipur for this important national-level industrial event. He said that micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the strong foundation of our economy. The expansion of MSMEs alongside large industries fosters local entrepreneurship, creates employment opportunities, and ensures the benefits of economic activity reach a wider section of society.The Chief Minister said that Laghu Udyog Bharti is working to promote industry and entrepreneurship by organizing entrepreneurs in more than 750 districts across the country. More than 1,200 small and medium-sized enterprises in 25 districts of Chhattisgarh are also affiliated with the organization. The participation of more than 300 MSME entrepreneurs from across the country in the India Industrial Fair, held from September 18th to 20th, reflects the importance of this event.He said that this industrial fair is not just an exhibition of products and technologies. It will forge new business relationships, discuss new possibilities, and provide young people with an opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the world of industry and entrepreneurship.*New industrial policy gives new impetus to investment*Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government implemented the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 after extensive consultations with industry, investors, and various stakeholders. The objective of this policy is not only to attract investment, but also to create an industrial ecosystem in which investment, production, employment, and the local economy thrive together.He said that the new industrial policy prioritizes simplification of procedures, incentives for investors, promotion of new and emerging sectors, and employment generation for local youth. Since the policy’s implementation, the state has received a large number of investment proposals, and it is heartening to note that groundwork has already begun on many projects.The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is no longer limited to traditional industries like coal, steel, and cement. The state government is encouraging various new and future-oriented sectors, including IT, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and green energy, to diversify the state’s industrial base. The commencement of work on a semiconductor project worth approximately ₹1,100 crore in the state exemplifies this changing industrial landscape.He said that rapid work is underway to develop Naya Raipur into a modern technology hub. Along with modern infrastructure, a conducive environment is being created for new industries and technology-based companies. The government is also moving forward with the development of technology hubs and industry excellence hubs in the state.*Simplify procedures for investors, government will become a partner*Chief Minister Shri Sai said that industries in any state can only grow rapidly if investors are provided with simple and transparent procedures along with policy stability. With this vision, the state government has worked to simplify the processes associated with setting up industries through a single-window system, so that investors do not have to make unnecessary rounds of various offices.He said that special attention is also being paid to providing industries with the necessary land, infrastructure, and other facilities in a timely manner. The government wants entrepreneurs to focus their time and energy on production, innovation, expansion, and job creation rather than on procedural complexities.*Minerals, energy and forest wealth are the major strengths of Chhattisgarh*Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh is one of the richest states in the country in terms of natural resources. Many important minerals, including coal, iron ore, and bauxite, are abundant here. Maximizing the value of these resources within the state is an important part of our industrial strategy.He said that more than 44 percent of Chhattisgarh’s land area is forested. The state boasts a variety of minor forest produce and medicinal resources, including tamarind, mahua, chironji, myrobalan, and baheda. Scientific processing and value addition can develop new industrial and employment opportunities in the forest region. This will also open new avenues for increasing the income of local communities and tribal families.The Chief Minister stated that the energy sector is another strong pillar of Chhattisgarh’s industrial potential. The state has the capacity to generate approximately 30,000 megawatts of electricity. New investment proposals are being received in the energy sector, and efforts are underway to further expand production capacity in the coming years. Abundant power, water resources, human resources, natural resources, and the geographical advantage of being located in the center of the country make Chhattisgarh a natural fit for industry.*Industrial development will be linked to employment of local youth*Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the real benefit of industrial development is achieved only when it increases employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth. Therefore, the new industrial policy places special emphasis on local employment. Special incentives have been provided for industries that employ a large number of local youth.He said, “Our goal is industrial development in which the state’s youth are not merely job seekers, but also job creators through their skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship. MSMEs and startups can play a vital role in this direction. The government is continuously striving to connect youth with skills, technology, markets, and entrepreneurial opportunities.”*Bastar has immense potential for tourism and local economy*Chief Minister Shri Sai, citing Bastar’s natural beauty, rich tribal culture, and tourism potential, said that Chhattisgarh has vast investment opportunities in both industry and tourism. The state government is promoting tourism as an important vehicle for employment and local economic development.He said that Bastar’s waterfalls, dense forests, natural sites, and unique tribal culture attract tourists from across the country and the world.
