Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone in the Dalli-Rajhara-Raoghat new rail line project, which falls under the Raipur Division of the South East Central Railway in Chhattisgarh. Work on the project’s final section—Tadoki to Raoghat—has been completed. This is a single-line, electrified broad-gauge section. The CRS (Commissioner of Railway Safety) inspection and speed trial for this section were conducted yesterday.
The CRS inspection and speed trial are crucial steps toward commissioning the new rail line. During the inspection, the railway track, bridges and culverts, electrification, signaling systems, and other safety and technical arrangements were examined. In accordance with established procedures, the operational capacity and safety standards of the rail section were also tested.
The 17.5-kilometer-long Tadoki-Raoghat section is part of the 95-kilometer-long Dalli-Rajhara-Raoghat new rail line project and is situated in a remote area of South Chhattisgarh. Currently, rail services are available from Dalli-Rajhara to Tadoki. The commencement of rail operations on the Tadoki-Raoghat section will strengthen rail connectivity in the surrounding areas and provide citizens with better, more convenient transportation options.
This rail line will facilitate the transport of iron ore to the Bhilai Steel Plant, thereby boosting the country’s steel industry. It will also aid in the transportation of agricultural produce and local commercial goods, playing a vital role in connecting rural and remote areas to the broader rail network.
