- Special seminar on identifying and preventing cybercrime and practicing safe digital behavior held at North East Institute auditorium
A special awareness seminar titled “Identification, Prevention, and Safety regarding Cybercrime” was organized by the South East Central Railway, Bilaspur Division, at the North East Institute, Bilaspur. The event aimed to raise awareness among officers and staff about cybercrime and provide essential information on the safe use of digital platforms.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Bilaspur, Shri Rajnesh Singh, attended the seminar as the keynote speaker. Also present on the occasion were Additional Divisional Railway Manager Shri J.S. Meena, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Dr. Anshuman Mishra, Senior Divisional Finance Manager Smt. Poonam Chaudhary, CSP Shri Gagan Kumar, and DSP Shri Sudeep Sarkar, along with a large number of railway officers and staff.
Keynote speaker Shri Rajnesh Singh provided detailed information on the various forms of cybercrime, the methods employed by criminals, and ways to identify and prevent cyber fraud. He emphasized that vigilance, awareness, and caution while using digital platforms are the most effective means of protection against cybercrime.
He specifically cautioned officers and staff against responding to any suspicious phone calls, messages, emails, or links without verification. He further advised them never to share OTPs, passwords, ATM/debit card PINs, confidential bank account information, or other sensitive details with anyone under any circumstances.
CSP Shri Gagan Kumar highlighted the importance of lodging a complaint without delay and taking immediate action in the event of a cybercrime incident. He noted that timely reporting and filing of complaints in cases of cyber fraud facilitate necessary action. He encouraged employees to remain alert while engaging in digital transactions and using online services, and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the concerned authorities.
