- State’s First Cognitive Data Annotation Center Established
- Employment Opportunities for Youth and Women (Didis)
In a historic move within the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data labeling, the Balrampur-Ramanujganj district of Chhattisgarh has become the first in the state to establish a Cognitive Data Annotation Center. The primary objective is to provide educated rural youth and women from self-help groups with new opportunities for modern, AI-based employment and livelihoods.
- MoU Signed with Prisma AI
A non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Balrampur-Ramanujganj district administration and Prisma AI at the Collectorate to establish this center. Key attendees included District Panchayat CEO Mr. Ashutosh Chaturvedi; Prisma AI CEO Dr. Shriram Iyer, COO Mr. Amitabh Rai Choudhary, and CTO Mr. Vineet Kumar Jha; as well as self-help group members Ms. Sapna and Ms. Anuja.
- Key Features of the Pilot Phase
Under the pilot phase, a 10-seat center will be launched in Balrampur, staffed by a dedicated trainer and a quality supervisor. Selected participants will receive hands-on training in AI literacy, digital skills, data labeling, image and object tagging, classification, verification, and quality review. Candidates will be identified, screened, and selected through a structured process.
- ‘Lakhpati Didis’ to Join the Digital Economy
Balrampur-Ramanujganj Collector Mrs. Chandan Tripathi stated that the district has a large number of self-help groups comprising members who have passed Class 12 or hold a bachelor’s degree and are proficient in operating smartphones and computers. By integrating women engaged in traditional livelihoods into the digital economy, this center will facilitate dignified and regular local income, thereby accelerating the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative.
- Division of Expenses and Responsibilities
Under the MoU, Prisma AI will bear the entire cost associated with the center’s technology, operations, training, quality supervision, participant remuneration, incentives, and internet connectivity. Meanwhile, the district administration will assist by identifying the premises and infrastructure, selecting beneficiaries, coordinating with the NRLM and Skill Development departments, and providing security support. This unique initiative will prove to be a milestone in the socio-economic upliftment of tribal-dominated areas.
