25 Years of Service: An Inspiring Journey Dedicated to Public Welfare, Good Governance, and the Resolve for a Developed India

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 25-Year Tenure: Dedicated to Nation-Building and Public Welfare

In Indian culture, service is not merely a duty; it is the highest virtue of life. This spirit of service inspires an individual to rise above the self and dedicate their life to the well-being of society and the nation. The 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s public life stand as a testament to this inspiring journey of service, dedication, good governance, and nation-building.

Having assumed the responsibility of public service on October 7, 2001, as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has consistently prioritized public welfare and the national interest throughout these 25 years. His journey—from Chief Minister of Gujarat to the Prime Minister of the nation—has been a shining example of development, firm resolve, and the trust of the people. He has transformed governance from a mere administrative apparatus into a powerful instrument for bringing positive change to the lives of the poor, farmers, women, the youth, and the most marginalized individuals in society.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the nation has achieved significant milestones in public welfare and the expansion of essential infrastructure. Through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, millions of families have gained the security of a permanent home. The Ujjwala Yojana has liberated women from the hazards of smoke; Ayushman Bharat has provided healthcare security to those in need; and the Swachh Bharat Mission has not only promoted cleanliness but also strengthened the respect and dignity of women. Furthermore, the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana has ensured food security for citizens.

Initiatives such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) have made the delivery of government schemes simpler and more transparent. Programs like Kisan Samman Nidhi, Mudra Yojana, Startup India, and various skill development initiatives have opened new avenues for farmers, the youth, and entrepreneurs. The most significant aspect of these efforts is the unwavering focus on ensuring that the fruits of development reach the last person in society.

Alongside development, Prime Minister Shri Modi has also provided a new direction for the preservation of India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. The construction of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the development of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and the expansion of amenities at major pilgrimage sites across the country are bestowing a new identity upon the glory of Indian culture. The growth of religious and cultural tourism is also creating new opportunities for local employment, handicrafts, and livelihoods.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is also steadily advancing toward realizing Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). Efforts are underway in the state to develop tourist destinations, preserve tribal culture, expand facilities at religious sites, and provide encouragement to local artists and craftspeople. Our rich cultural heritage serves as a vital cornerstone for building a developed Chhattisgarh.

The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Campaign for Commitment to Service), held in Chhattisgarh from September 17 to October 17, 2026—marking the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s public life—has infused new energy into public service and civic participation. Led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, this campaign utilized 12 key initiatives to engage various sections of society in activities centered on service and nation-building.

The ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ (Lamp of Blessings) initiative conveyed a message of service, gratitude, and positivity, while ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat – Chitra Seva’ (India of My Dreams – Artistic Service) offered children and students a platform to express their visions for a developed India. Initiatives such as ‘Namo Seva – Anakahi Kahaniyan’ (Namo Service – Untold Stories) and ‘Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang’ (Colors of Service, Together with the Nation) promoted the spirit of service among the masses through art, culture, and creative endeavors.

Initiatives like ‘Seva Sankalp Yatra’, ‘Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra’, and ‘Seva Mera Yogdan’ (Service: My Contribution) strengthened the sense of social participation and collective responsibility. Similarly, the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ (Service Bridge Campaign) and ‘Sushasan Seva Samvad’ (Good Governance Service Dialogue) served to connect citizens with government services, while fostering a more sensitive and accountable administration. The ‘Seva First Innovation Challenge’ encouraged fresh thinking and innovation among the youth. These initiatives conveyed the message that nation-building is not solely the responsibility of the government, but a shared duty of every citizen.

The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Campaign for the Pledge of Service) concludes formally on October 17, 2026. Over the past month, this campaign has provided an extensive platform to promote the spirit of service, cleanliness, social awareness, creativity, and public participation. However, the true significance of this campaign will only be realized when this pledge of service becomes an enduring part of our daily lives and social conduct.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey of service inspires us, demonstrating that significant transformation is achievable through firm willpower, persistent hard work, and public participation. A ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) can only be built when every citizen, recognizing their own responsibilities, contributes to the progress of society and the nation.

I commend all the citizens of Chhattisgarh—the youth, women, students, artists, social organizations, and public representatives—who have contributed to advancing the spirit of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.contributed. Let us all pledge to make cleanliness, environmental conservation, assisting those in need, the education of daughters, the preservation of our cultural heritage, and social harmony an integral part of our lives.

The conclusion of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign) marks the end of a specific initiative, not the end of the spirit of service itself. It serves as the beginning of new resolutions aimed at public welfare, good governance, and the building of a developed India. Only by embracing service as a core value, recognizing public participation as a source of strength, and making nation-building our collective resolve, can we realize the dream of a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India.
