Bridging the message of physical fitness with the growing need for digital awareness, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sports Authority of India (SAI), Fit India and MY Bharat organised the 96th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Anchored in the theme ‘Pedal for a Safer, Stronger and Fitter Digital India’, the event brought together the twin priorities of building a fitness-conscious society and empowering citizens to navigate the digital world with greater awareness and responsibility.

The initiative highlighted how fitness in the modern age extends beyond physical well-being to include informed choices, digital discipline and financial prudence. Complementing the cycle rally, the event included yoga sessions, energetic Zumba and fun-filled activities for participants.
Emphasising the transformative potential of everyday cycling, Harsh Sharma, Founder, Wheels and Heels Group, said, “This is one of the best initiatives by the Government of India to encourage people to stay healthy and fit through cycling. Even cycling just 2 km every day can make a significant difference. I urge everyone to join the Namo Fit India Club. I appeal to all cycling enthusiasts and cycling groups to enrol in the club and become part of this initiative.”

Highlighting the importance of financial vigilance at the event, Aryan Phogat, International Basketball Player, advised athletes to exercise caution when approached with seemingly lucrative opportunities. The guest emphasised that attractive offers should be evaluated carefully and that seeking guidance from a trusted financial professional can help individuals make informed decisions and protect themselves against online fraud. The message also reinforced that professional excellence encompasses both physical fitness and responsible financial management.

By bringing together cycling, community participation and cybersecurity awareness, the 96th edition of Sundays on Cycle expanded the conversation around fitness to reflect the needs of a digitally connected generation. It underscored the importance of nurturing individuals who are not only physically active but also digitally aware, financially informed and equipped to make responsible choices.

Through Sundays on Cycle, Fit India continues to build a culture of mass participation in fitness, transforming a simple everyday activity into a platform for community engagement and public awareness. The initiative reinforces the broader vision of a healthier and more empowered India, where physical well-being and digital responsibility advance together.

Fit India Sundays on Cycle is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), Raahgiri Foundation and MY Bharat. The cycling drive is conducted simultaneously across all States and Union Territories, including at SAI Regional Centres, National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs), SAI Training Centres (STCs), Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs) and Khelo India Centres (KICs). Over 6000 NAMO Fit India clubs also organise the cycling initiative nationwide every week.
