The government’s public welfare schemes are playing a crucial role in bringing positive changes to the lives of farmers, empowering them financially and making them self-reliant. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one such ambitious scheme, benefiting farmers in the district. Through the scheme, financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year is provided directly to farmers’ bank accounts in three equal installments. This allows farmers to meet their farming needs in a timely manner.
As directed by Collector Namrata Jain, continuous efforts are being made to ensure that the benefits of various government welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in the district. In this regard, Mr. Narendra Kumar, son of Mr. Ramchandra, a farmer from Ward No. 15, Dumratarai, Development Block and District Narayanpur, is taking advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to improve his farming. Mr. Narendra Kumar owns a total of 0.368 hectares of agricultural land. He explains that previously, arranging fertilizers, seeds, agricultural medicines, and other essential resources on time during farming was challenging. Due to lack of financial resources, he often faced difficulties in preparing for farming. During this time, he learned about the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana through the Agriculture Department and registered himself under the scheme.
After joining the scheme, he began receiving a financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year directly into his bank account in three installments. This amount helps him arrange for fertilizers, seeds, and other agricultural inputs as needed. This has helped him complete agricultural tasks on time and increased his agricultural production. Along with improving his income from farming, he has also received financial support for his family. Mr. Narendra Kumar explains that the assistance received from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has proven to be a significant support for him in farming. It has not only improved his financial situation but also boosted his confidence in farming. Now, he is encouraging other farmers to take advantage of this important government scheme by informing them about it, so that more and more small and marginal farmers in the district can become economically empowered and move towards self-reliance.
