A debate competition among law students was successfully organized at the MATS Law School, MATS University, on September 26, 2025. The topic of the competition was “The Right to Vote: A Constitutional Right or a Fundamental Right.”
Students from various semesters enthusiastically participated in the competition and presented their arguments. Participants presented in-depth research and insights based on the Indian Constitution, court decisions, and the fundamental spirit of the democratic system.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Prashant Kumar, Head of the Department, MATS School of Law. The competition was conducted and coordinated by Dr. B.R. Maurya, Assistant Professor and Convener. The jury comprised eminent legal experts and academics who evaluated the participants.
At the end of the three-session competition, the results were announced and the winners were honored. Ms. Mimansh Yadav won first place, Ms. Shikha Joshi won second place, and Ms. Himani Yadav won third place. The winners were honored with certificates by the Head of the Department, MATS School of Law.
On this occasion, Department Head Dr. Prashant Kumar said, “Such events not only develop students’ understanding of legal matters, but also strengthen their reasoning, oratory skills, and faith in constitutional values.”
On the occasion of the event, Chancellor of the University Shri Gajraj Pagaria, Director General Shri Priyesh Pagaria, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Yadav and Registrar Shri Gokulananda Panda extended their blessings and hearty congratulations to all the participants for their enthusiastic participation in this enriching academic event.
At the end of the program, Dr. B.R. Maurya presented a vote of thanks, and the competition concluded with the national anthem. All the faculty members of the college were present on this occasion.
