Balodabazar Chowpatty, developed on the lines of the Marine Drive in the capital city of Raipur, was formally inaugurated today, giving Balodabazar town a new urban identity. The Chowpatty was inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Government’s Revenue Minister, Shri Tankaram Verma, and Technical Education Minister, Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, with a prayer service and ribbon cutting. With the inauguration, the Chowpatty was opened to the general public.
- The attractive Chowpatty complex has developed on the banks of Swami Vivekananda Sarovar.
The Balodabazar Municipal Council has developed a beautiful and attractive promenade along the banks of the Swami Vivekananda Sarovar, the heart of the city. Along with this, the lake’s beautification and other development works have also been completed.

Addressing the event, Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma said that this positively developed Chowpatty is a major achievement for the city of Balodabazar. Residents will be able to enjoy entertainment and delicious food here. He urged special attention to cleanliness to maintain the beauty of the Chowpatty. He said that Balodabazar is rapidly progressing on the path of development and the government will leave no stone unturned in its development work. On this occasion, Minister Shri Verma mesmerized the crowd by singing a famous Chhattisgarhi song in his familiar style.

Technical Education Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb said that this Chowpatty, which offers entertainment and a variety of cuisines all in one place, similar to Raipur, will become a special attraction for the city’s residents. He said that everyone’s cooperation is essential to make Chhattisgarh a developed state under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s pledge of a developed India by 2047 and the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai.
- Incorporation of modern facilities in Chowpatty
A modern food zone has been developed at Chowpatty , which includes more than a dozen food stalls and restaurants. Apart from this, children’s play area , swings and other entertainment facilities have been provided for children . For security and order, facilities like parking arrangement , floating fountain , selfie point , floating jetty , concrete road and lawn have also been developed.
- The townspeople got a new entertainment center
With the opening of Chowpatty, city residents have gained a new entertainment center. While young people and children can enjoy the entertainment , senior citizens can enjoy walking on the pathways surrounding the lake.
