Mass Marriage on Basant Panchami Exemplifies Social Unity: CM Dr. Yadav

  • CM Blesses 121 Newlywed Couples, Presents ₹51,000 Cheques to Each

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav described the mass marriage of 121 couples from the Hindu and Muslim communities on the occasion of Basant Panchami as a shining example of social unity, and extended his best wishes to the newlyweds for their future life. He also presented cheques of ₹51,000 each to the couples under the Chief Minister Kanyadan Vivah/Nikah Scheme. Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda also blessed the newly married couples on the occasion.

At the ceremony, 118 Hindu couples were married according to Vedic rituals under a single mandap, while the nikah of three Muslim couples was solemnised by maulvis. Appreciating this spirit of harmony, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said it was inspiring to see people of different faiths beginning a new chapter of life together. He urged the couples to play an active role in the nation’s and society’s development.

The event began with Vedic swasti vachan and the traditional lighting of lamps. As the brides and grooms exchanged garlands, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav showered flower petals on them, adding to the festive atmosphere. The celebrations were further enlivened by joyful dances performed by family members.

Present at the ceremony were Swami Raghavdevacharya and Sadhvi Gyaneshwari Didi, along with Union Minister Shri Nadda; Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh; Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey; Rajya Sabha MP Sumitra Balmiki; Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu; MLAs Ashok Rohani and Dr. Abhilash Pandey; Neeraj Singh; Santosh Barkade; Municipal Corporation President Rikunj Vijay; Ratnesh Sonkar; Rajkumar Patel; Akhilesh Jain; and several other distinguished citizens.
