Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the City Gas Infrastructure Project at a private hotel in the capital, Raipur. On this occasion, he flagged off CNG-powered vehicles and interacted with Mrs. Poonam Choubey, the first pipeline gas consumer of Raipur Municipal Corporation, to learn about the benefits of pipeline gas for domestic use.
The Chief Minister stated that Chhattisgarh is celebrating its silver jubilee year, completing 25 years of its formation, and during these years, the state has achieved many milestones of development. The City Gas Infrastructure Project is a new milestone in this journey of development. He stated that this initiative is not just a new facility, but a strong commitment of the state towards clean energy, environmental protection, and modern infrastructure.

The Chief Minister stated that, on the lines of metro cities, pipeline gas will now be available to homes and commercial establishments through DPNG (Domestic Piped Natural Gas). This will relieve domestic consumers of the hassle of refilling gas and enhance security. He added that affordable and accessible energy will also boost the industrial sector and strengthen investment opportunities in the state.
Congratulating the HCG Group, the Chief Minister expressed his hope that they would soon develop a comprehensive network of CNG stations in Raipur, Balodabazar, and Gariaband districts. He stated that the use of CNG in vehicles will reduce pollution and reduce fuel costs for ordinary citizens.
The Chief Minister noted that significant provisions have been made for infrastructure development in the recently presented state budget. The government aims to provide world-class facilities from urban to rural areas, ensuring that residents experience amenities comparable to those in metro cities. He emphasized that development and environmental protection go hand in hand, and the government is prioritizing green energy. He appealed to the state’s citizens to participate in environmental protection by adopting clean fuel and contribute to the creation of a green, developed, and self-reliant Chhattisgarh.

It is noteworthy that the City Gas Infrastructure Project has been launched in Raipur, Balodabazar, and Gariaband districts. Through this project, PNG will be supplied through pipelines for domestic use and commercial establishments, and CNG will also be available for vehicles. HCG Group Managing Director Mr. Rahul Chopra, Director Mr. Rajiv Mathur, Chairman Mr. Deepak Sawant, Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, representatives of GAIL India and people from the industry were present in the program.
