  • Maintaining public confidence is the biggest responsibility of the police – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai
  • Passing out ceremony of 859 trainees concluded at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Police Academy

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the passing out parade of the Sub Inspector cadre held at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy in Chandkhuri. He inspected the parade and took the salute. On this occasion, he congratulated and wished the officers of Subedar, Sub Inspector and Platoon Commander cadre on successful completion of their training. A total of 859 trainees completed the training in this session, which includes 54 Subedars, 528 Sub Inspectors (GD), 02 Sub Inspectors (Computer), 01 Sub Inspector (Radio), 01 Sub Inspector (Fingerprint), 68 Sub Inspectors (SB) and 205 Platoon Commanders.

In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this day marks a memorable milestone in the lives of all the trainees, from where they are moving forward with a resolve to serve the nation and Mother Chhattisgarh. He said that this achievement, achieved after rigorous training, is a matter of pride not only for the trainees, but also for their families and the entire state. He mentioned that when he presented these young people with appointment letters last year, they possessed talent, and today, after training, they have acquired discipline, confidence, and leadership skills, which will make them successful officers.

Describing the police service as highly prestigious and responsible, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that integrity is the foundation of any prestigious service. Motivating the trainees, he said that the fundamental duty of the police is to protect citizens. Whenever a citizen feels unsafe, the first person they turn to is the police. Therefore, maintaining public trust is the police’s foremost responsibility. He said that the uniform is not just a right, but a symbol of the commitment to public safety and the associated prestige that must be maintained under all circumstances. He said that responsibility is never easy, but it can be fulfilled successfully with competence and dedication. Just like the hard work put in during training, consistent effort and dedication in service also lead to satisfaction and success.

The Chief Minister also said that today’s exit signifies not just a departure from the academy, but an entry into the real field of work. He linked it to the “exit ceremony” of the Sanatan tradition, explaining that just as a child leaves home for the first time, these trainees are leaving the safe training environment and entering the service sector with extensive responsibilities.

The Chief Minister stated that significant reforms have been made in policing in Chhattisgarh. In the past two years, the recruitment process has been made transparent and expedited, modern technology and equipment have been incorporated into the police force, and special units have been established to combat cybercrime. The training system has also been given a more practical and modern touch. He clarified that the police of the future will not only be a law enforcement agency, but will also function as a proactive service provider, requiring it to transform from a reactive to a proactive agency.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the country is currently undergoing a historic transformation, with new laws such as the Indian Judicial Code, the Indian Civil Defence Code, and the Indian Evidence Act replacing colonial laws. This convocation is of special significance as this is the first batch of sub-inspectors to receive training under these new codes. He expressed confidence that these officers will strengthen the justice system by effectively enforcing these laws.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is working on three pillars: security, development, and trust, and the role of the police is crucial in strengthening these three. He said that the police should not limit themselves to maintaining law and order, but should also connect with society and win the trust of the people, because territory can be won through fear, but hearts can only be won through trust.

Citing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he stated that efforts are underway to develop a smart, technology-driven, and sensitive police system in the country. He stated that the police of the future will be equipped with digital, technological, and advanced tools, but public trust can only be earned through behavior, conduct, and integrity.
The Chief Minister stated that the lives of these trainees are no longer solely personal, but are dedicated to serving society and the state. He urged all officers to prioritize justice, honesty, and humanity as they perform their duties daily. Finally, he congratulated everyone on their achievement and expressed confidence that, through their dedication and commitment, they will play a vital role in making Chhattisgarh safe, strong, and prosperous. He emphasized that these officers are not only law enforcers but also guardians of the state’s hopes and trust.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma congratulated all the sub-inspectors who had completed their training and their families. He said that these trainees would further strengthen the strength of the Chhattisgarh Police. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the recruitment process was completed with complete transparency and fairness, which reflects the government’s commitment. He expected the officials to create an environment in which criminals would have a fear of the law and common citizens would have confidence in the police.

In the function, the trainees who performed excellently in various subjects – Sarvesh Kumar, Kiran, Mitali Bugge, Devendra Singh, Bharat Kumar, Jaiprakash Rathore, Sachin Yadav, Sundar Manish, Jitendra Kumar Vaishnav, Jitendra Singh Rajput and Rakesh Vaishnav – were honoured with trophies and certificates.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Manoj Pingua, ADG Mr. Deepanshu Kabra, Academy Director Mr. Ajay Yadav, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Abhishek Pallav along with other officers and a large number of family members of the trainees were present.
