In Chhattisgarh, the process of self-enumeration has begun from April 16 to 30, 2026, in conjunction with house listing and house counting as part of the first phase of Census 2027. Chief Secretary Vikassheel personally entered his information as part of the self-enumeration at the Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today. Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar Pingua, Chhattisgarh Census Director Kartikeya Goyal, and officials from the Census Directorate were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Secretary has appealed to the people of the state to make maximum use of this facility and play an active role in the census by filling in their own information. Citizens in the state have been given the opportunity to enter their information through self-enumeration from April 16 to April 30, 2026. Today, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, also entered his information on the portal under the self-census.

The Chief Secretary stated that this initiative is considered an important step towards making the census process easier, transparent, and more reliable, enabling people to share their accurate and complete information. After the self-enumeration period ends, census teams will go door-to-door from May 1st to May 30th to collect information. Enumerators will visit each home to record information. Information about each house will be recorded. The condition of the house, amenities, and basic information will be collected. Those who have self-enumerated information must share their SE ID with the census enumerators when they visit. If someone is unable to complete the self-enumeration, there is no need to worry. In Chhattisgarh, enumerators will visit your home to record information from May 1st to May 30th, 2026. All citizens are requested to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure their participation in the country’s development.
