The “Space on Wheels” program in Jashpur district, aimed at fostering curiosity and scientific temper in space science, has infused new energy among children. Upon the arrival of the Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) special mobile exhibition bus at the Ranjita Stadium, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai inspected the space vehicle and saw models of rockets, satellites, and various space missions on display. During this, he interacted cordially with the students and praised their scientific understanding and curiosity.

Impressed by the confidence of the children, the Chief Minister said that such initiatives play a very important role in developing interest in science, especially in remote areas. He said that in today’s times, science and technology are the foundation of development and programs like “Space on Wheels” strengthen curiosity, innovation and scientific attitude among children in rural areas.
During the programme, the Chief Minister presented certificates to 17 children who imparted science knowledge to various schools in the district through Space on Wheels and also distributed the booklet “The Magic of Night Sky” to the students.

This initiative will directly benefit more than 10,000 students in the district.

“Space on Wheels” is ISRO’s state-of-the-art mobile exhibition designed to bring space science directly to students and the public. The exhibition showcases models of PSLV, GSLV, Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, RLV, remote sensing, communication, and navigation satellites. Through audio-visual media, interactive panels, and live demos, students are taught complex space technologies in simple language.
This initiative aims not only to raise awareness about space science but also to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Students are being mentored by Vigyan Bharati experts, physics lecturers, and volunteers. This program is proving especially useful for students who do not have access to large cities or ISRO centers.
The arrival of “Space on Wheels” in Jashpur has emerged as a campaign giving a new direction to the dreams of the youth, which will play an important role in giving a new identity to the district in the field of science and technology in the future.
