Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel conducted a detailed review of paddy lifting, custom milling and PDS arrangements.

  • Instructions to complete lifting of remaining paddy by May 31 and speed up deposit of custom milled rice
  • Three months’ one-time ration distribution, storage capacity and recruitment process for vacant posts were also reviewed.

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel today conducted a detailed review of various subjects related to departmental schemes, paddy lifting, custom milling and public distribution system at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. In the meeting, the progress of disposal of paddy purchased at the support price in Kharif year 2025-26, lifting of paddy from paddy procurement centers and storage centers, custom milling and depositing of rice in FCI and Civil Supplies Corporation was reviewed in detail.

In the meeting, Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel directed the officials that the lifting of the remaining paddy from the procurement centres and storage centres for the Kharif year 2025-26 should be completed by May 31, 2026. He directed to expedite the process of depositing rice after custom milling and complete the work within the stipulated time limit.

The meeting also reviewed the three-month lump sum rice storage and distribution under the Public Distribution System for April, May and June 2026. Food Minister Mr. Baghel directed the officials to complete the ration distribution work for all three months within the stipulated timeframe so that the beneficiaries do not face any inconvenience.

The review meeting also reviewed the status of the recruitment process for vacant posts of officers and employees in the Food Directorate, district offices, Civil Supplies Corporation, State Warehousing Corporation, and Chhattisgarh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Minister Mr. Baghel directed that the recruitment process for the required posts be expedited.

While reviewing the state’s food grain storage capacity, Minister Mr. Baghel directed the Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation to complete and put into use the warehouses under construction within the stipulated timeframe. The work of legal metrology was also reviewed in the meeting.

Food Minister Shri Baghel directed the officials to expedite the payment of commission related to schemes like food grain distribution, supplementary nutrition and mid-day meal under the public distribution system.

Food Secretary Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, Food Director Dr. Farha Alam, Managing Director Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Federation Mr. Jitendra Shukla, Managing Director Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation, Registrar Chhattisgarh State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, Controller Legal Metrology and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
