Governor Shri Ramen Deka held a meeting regarding development works in Kabirdham district and instructed the officials to work on a large scale, laying special emphasis on rainwater conservation, environmental protection and effective implementation of public welfare schemes. He said that it is necessary to make water conservation a public campaign, only then the present and future generations can be saved from the groundwater crisis. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and Pandariya MLA Smt. Bhavana Bohra were also present in the meeting.

Governor Mr. Deka, during a district-level review meeting held in the Collectorate hall, stated that rainwater is a free resource of nature, which, if conserved, can not only meet current needs but also increase groundwater levels. He emphasized the need to install rainwater harvesting systems in every concrete building and Prime Minister’s residence. He also called for working towards rainwater conservation by constructing ponds in fields and encouraging large farmers to do so at the initial level.

Governor Mr. Deka directed a massive tree-planting campaign under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign for environmental protection. He said that not only planting trees but also their conservation is equally important to increase the forest cover of the district. He placed special emphasis on increasing tree plantations in urban areas as well. He stressed the need to adopt modern techniques in agriculture, train farmers, promote organic farming, and work on a large scale on modern agricultural methods like hydroponics and drip irrigation.

While reviewing the PM Janaman Yojana, Governor Mr. Deka stated that the scheme aims to improve the social and economic lives of the Scheduled Tribes. He reviewed the availability of basic amenities such as housing, roads, health, and education and directed the timely completion of the scheme’s goals.

During the review of health services, he stressed on the treatment of TB patients, availability of nutritious food and ensuring proper treatment of multiple TB patients by referring them to higher medical centers. He also gave instructions to increase awareness about breast cancer among women and organize regular screening camps. The Governor informed that the Social Welfare Department has signed an MoU with AIIMS, under which patients suffering from cataract are being treated free of cost. He gave instructions to provide its benefits to as many needy people as possible. In the meeting, he also stressed on increasing the Red Cross annual membership campaign and said that small help from people can change someone’s life.

Governor Mr. Deka said that each district and development block should have its own distinct identity, which can be established through better implementation of schemes and positive change in people’s lives. He urged officials to perform their best in their respective fields and bring real change to people’s lives.

Collector Shri Gopal Verma, Superintendent of Police along with all SDMs and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
