Mahindra University and H.N.LU sign MoU, giving new dimension to legal education and research

Mahindra University and Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen legal education, interdisciplinary research and academic collaboration.

The MoU was signed during the inaugural ceremony of the “International Arbitration Confluence” held at Mahindra University from May 1 to May 3, 2026. The Confluence was jointly organized by Mahindra University School of Law and H.N.LU.

The MoU was signed by HNL University Vice Chancellor Prof. V.C. Vivekanandan and Mahindra University Vice Chancellor Prof. Yajulu Meduri.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. V.C. Vivekanandan stated that this partnership will not be limited to the School of Law, but will also see the two institutions working together on the legal aspects of technology, governance, public policy, and other emerging areas. He also commended Mahindra University for its academic and professional achievements in a short period of time.

Mahindra University Vice Chancellor Professor Yaz Meduri said that this collaboration with HNL University, one of the country’s leading National Law Universities, will open new opportunities for research, faculty exchange, student learning, and institutional networking. He added that joint conferences, research projects, and faculty visits between the two institutions will further strengthen this partnership.

  • Under this MoU, both the institutions will:
  • Promote research at the intersection of law, technology, governance and public policy;
  • will work under the joint supervision of PhD scholars and researchers;
  • organize faculty and student exchange programs;
  • Jointly organize conferences, seminars, workshops and training programmes;
  • Explore national and international research collaborations and funding opportunities.

Both institutions on this occasion reiterated their commitment to promote innovative legal education and develop meaningful academic partnerships that address global challenges.

This collaboration will create new opportunities for students, faculty and researchers and will play a key role in shaping the evolving landscape of legal and interdisciplinary education in India.
