- ‘Women’s economic support, children’s education and health are getting new strength’
The Chhattisgarh government’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana is bringing positive change in the lives of millions of women in the state. The monthly financial assistance provided to women is not only empowering them to become self-reliant but also playing a vital role in meeting their family needs, including their children’s education and health.
Women in both rural and urban areas are using the funds received from the scheme for their children’s education, school supplies, nutrition, health care, and household needs. This has not only strengthened the economic condition of their families but has also increased women’s decision-making role.
Mrs. Brihaspati Rajwade, a resident of village Pidha in Surajpur district, says that the funds received from the scheme are proving helpful in meeting her children’s educational and health needs. Mrs. Shyam Bai Rajwade, also from the same village, is also using the funds for her children’s education and health.
She says that the regular financial assistance has provided relief to her family and made it easier to provide the necessary facilities for their children’s better future.

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana is an important initiative of the state government towards economically empowering women. Through the scheme, funds are transferred directly to women’s bank accounts, providing them with transparency and a foundation for economic security.
The scheme’s impact is not limited to financial assistance; it has also boosted women’s self-confidence, strengthened their participation in important family decisions, and increased spending on children’s education, nutrition, and health. This scheme is making a significant contribution to women’s empowerment as well as social and economic development.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the guidance of Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, this scheme is emerging as a new example of women’s dignity, self-reliance, and the overall development of families. Millions of women across the state are taking advantage of this scheme and playing an active role in improving the living standards of their families, thereby providing new impetus to the creation of a strong, educated, and healthy Chhattisgarh.
