Special focus on nutrition and quality in Anganwadi centres

  • During the surprise inspection of the Collector, the attendance of children, food and take home ration arrangements were reviewed.

The Women and Child Development Department is continuously making efforts to improve the nutritional levels of children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers in the state. During a surprise inspection of the Anganwadi center in Daldhawa village in Balrampur district, Collector Mrs. Chandan Sanjay Tripathi reviewed nutrition services, child attendance, and the take-home ration distribution system.
    During the inspection, the Collector directed to ensure regular and 100% attendance. She reviewed supplementary nutrition, food quality, and kitchen and food storage arrangements, emphasizing the importance of providing children with a balanced and nutritious diet. She emphasized that proper nutrition during childhood is a strong foundation for children’s physical and mental development.
The Collector also inquired about the take-home ration being distributed to pregnant and lactating mothers and directed the timely delivery of quality nutritional items. She emphasized that continuous monitoring and effective implementation at all levels are essential to achieving the goal of a malnutrition-free society through Anganwadi centers.
District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Nayantara Singh Tomar was also present during the inspection.
