The administration has taken strict action against illegal mineral storage in Balod district, seizing sand in six cases. The seized sand has been handed over to the Gram Panchayat and the concerned Kotwar.
Following the Collector’s instructions, a continuous campaign is underway in the district against illegal mining, transportation, and storage of minerals. In this regard, on Wednesday, a joint team from the Mineral Department and the Revenue Department conducted a surprise inspection in the villages of Sikosa, Rengakathera, Chandanbihari, and Deori-Kh in the Gunderdehi development block. During the inspection, six cases of illegal sand storage were found at various locations, resulting in seizure action. The Mineral Investigation Team will continue to take strict action against those involved in illegal mining, transportation, and storage in the future.
