Due to the continuous efforts of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, an amount of ₹49.4 million (49.4 million 13 thousand rupees) has been approved for the renovation of the Brijeshwar Sagar Reservoir Project in the Bhaiyathan development block of Surajpur district. This important project will strengthen the irrigation system in the area and provide better agricultural facilities to farmers.
Upon completion, this project, approved by the Water Resources Department, will benefit 464 hectares of agricultural land. This will ensure timely availability of adequate water for irrigation, increase agricultural production, and strengthen the region’s agricultural economy. Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade stated that the state government is prioritizing the interests of farmers and is paying special attention to the development of irrigation resources.
The renovation of the Brijeshwar Sagar Reservoir will provide long-term benefits to the farmers of the Bhaiyathan area and make farming more profitable. Administrative approval has been issued to the Chief Engineer, Hasdeo Ganga Basin Water Resources Department, Ambikapur, for the implementation of the project. This project will prove to be a significant step towards water conservation and agricultural development in the region.
