Hiraram Churgian, a progressive farmer in the forest village of Kodekasa in the Doundi Lohara development block of Balod district, has achieved remarkable success in farming by adopting modern agricultural techniques. The use of nano urea and nano DAP has reduced his farming costs and improved production and crop quality.
Farmer Hiraram cultivates approximately 5 acres of land and has been using nano fertilizers under the guidance of the Agriculture Department for the past four to five years. He explained that compared to traditional granular urea, the use of nano urea has not only reduced fertilizer costs but also alleviated the problem of transporting and storing heavy bags. According to him, the use of nano technology has resulted in lusher and healthier paddy crops, and reduced pest and disease infestations. As a result, overall production has increased.
Hiraram Churgian’s success is attracting farmers in Kodekasa and surrounding areas to nano fertilizers. He appealed to other farmers to adopt modern agricultural techniques under the guidance of the Agriculture Department to achieve greater profits at lower costs.
