DMF has transformed mining-affected villages, with a road worth Rs 181 lakh accelerating development.

  • 4.40 km renovation of Mudhapar-Dhatura-Korbi-Khamharia road
  • Construction done at a cost of Rs 180.93 lakh from DMF
  • Education, health, agriculture and rural economy got a big boost

The effective use of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds for the overall development of mining-affected areas is setting a new example of change in the state. The Mudhapar-Dhatura-Korbi-Khamhari road, constructed with DMF funds in Korba district, has eased the lives of thousands of villagers by solving age-old transportation problems. Under the well-planned action plan of Collector Kunal Dudawat, the 4.40-kilometer-long road was renovated and strengthened at a cost of ₹180.93 lakh from the DMF. With the completion of construction on April 15, 2026, the villagers in the area now enjoy safe and smooth transportation throughout the year.
Previously, the road would become muddy and waterlogged during the monsoon season, disrupting students’ studies, patient treatment, transportation of farmers’ produce, and the villagers’ daily activities. Improved road connectivity has facilitated easy access to schools, hospitals, and markets, and also facilitated farmers’ timely transportation of their produce. This road has not only become a means of transportation, but has also proven to be a new foundation for the social and economic development of mining-affected villages. Improved connectivity has increased villagers’ access to education, health, business, and other essential services, leading to a new momentum of development in the region.
Expressing gratitude to the district administration and DMF, the villagers said that the resolution of a long-standing problem has brought significant positive changes to their lives. This project exemplifies how planned and public-friendly use of DMF funds can play a vital role in the development of mining-affected areas.
