Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that to provide better opportunities for employment and self-employment to the youth, local opportunities should be effectively utilized in all sectors including industry, trade, agriculture, animal husbandry. A roadmap should be prepared to give national and international recognition to the traditional skills and local products of the district in line with the Prime Minister’s principle of ‘Vocal for Local’. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a meeting of the District Development Advisory Committee under Chief Minister’s Jan Vishwas Abhiyan in Tikamgarh on Friday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the local prospects should be converted into opportunities for employment and economic activities by including the local requirements of the district, available resources, traditional skills, innovations and suggestions of public representatives and various stakeholders in the development action plan.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that he encouraged interested entrepreneurs to come forward to take advantage of the new industry policies and credit-based schemes. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the successful efforts and innovations being done at the local level should be identified and implemented systematically, so that the economy of the district can get more momentum. Emphasis was placed on promoting local arts and crafts including brass sculptures, providing markets for their sale and linking local talent with economic activities.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also said that special attention should be paid in the direction of making animal husbandry a profitable business. He directed to connect more and more milk producers and cowherds from cooperative sector and to make proper efforts for conservation and breed improvement of good breed animals in gaushalas. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that increasing the availability of good breed heifers will benefit the cowherds and along with agriculture, animal husbandry can also be made a better source of income.

Development of religious and tourism prospects in Tikamgarh district was also discussed. Emphasis was placed on the development of Kundeshwar Dham and promoting religious tourism and linking tourism activities with economic opportunities at the local level.

The Tikamgarh District Development Advisory Committee will make recommendations regarding the long-term development work plan of the district in industry, trade, agriculture, protection of water structures, export, mineral, environment, employment and other important sectors. The committee will play an important role in determining development priorities based on local conditions, available resources and prospects.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that development is not limited to just mega works. Public participation, community spirit and effective use of local knowledge and experience also give new impetus to development. He called for active participation in community development activities, encouraging community marriages and organizing social and cultural events with mutual harmony.

In the meeting, people’s representatives and officials gave suggestions on various topics related to the development of the district. Necessary action will be taken by the district administration in the direction of incorporating the suggestions and recommendations received through the committee in various development plans and works. The meeting of the committee organized under the Chief Minister’s Jan-Viswas Abhiyan will prove to be an important step in the direction of making the district self-reliant and economically empowered by linking the development with local needs, public sentiments, resources and innovations.
