Timely availability of fertilizers, seeds and loans has made farming prosperous.

  • Farmer Somaru’s path becomes easier due to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai’s farmer-friendly initiative

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, efforts to provide timely agricultural services to farmers are yielding positive results in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh. Prior to the Kharif season, the district administration provided timely access to fertilizers, improved seeds, and loans through Kisan Credit Cards (KCC), enabling farmers to prepare for farming without hassle.

Somaru Ram, a farmer from Kumharras village in the Chhindgarh development block of Sukma district, is an inspiring example. Somaru Ram, who cultivates two acres of land, received a subsidized Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan through the Chhindgarh Cooperative Society. He also received timely, improved rice seeds and a bag each of urea, DAP, NPK, and potash from the Kukanar Society.

Somaru Ram explains that in the past, arranging fertilizer, seeds, and money during the growing season was a major challenge. This time, he received all the necessary materials on time, allowing him to start sowing on time and alleviating financial worries. This has boosted his confidence, and he is expecting a good harvest.

Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and the district administration, he says that the government’s farmer-friendly schemes have provided significant support to small farmers. Timely assistance has made farming easier and has created an atmosphere of enthusiasm among farmers.

The district administration is not limited to providing fertilizers, seeds, and loans, but is also continuously cracking down on fertilizer and seed black marketing, illegal storage, and middlemen. Joint administration and police teams are conducting regular inspections to ensure that farmers have access to quality agricultural inputs at reasonable prices.

This system of timely credit, quality agricultural inputs, and effective monitoring has strengthened the confidence of farmers in Sukma district. This has not only ensured smooth agricultural operations but also raised hopes for improved production this Kharif season.
